2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Wargaming a bit here...

1) ATL - Sarr
2) WAS - Topic
3) HOU - Risacher
4) SAS - Dillingham
5) DET - Buzelis (or Knecht with a possible slight trade back)
6) CHA - Holland
7) POR - Williams
8) SAS - Knecht
9) MEM - Clingan
10) UTA - Castle, Sheppard or Collier, maybe Walter
No shot CHA takes Holland over Castle.... but I like the optimism

We needed the really bad teams to draft high so we can suck more than them next year. It's going to be a real struggle to lose the most

I would see what's going on with Detroit and see if we can trade up to #5. We gave them Fontecchio. I think they want to start competing.

My dude they tanked their asses off. They just did it for reals instead of for a couple months.
And you know, we could have done the same: traded away good veterans for picks and put a bad team and young players on the floor for a season. The draft is design to help the teams doing exactly that. But Ainge wanted to be to cute: to play a decent team for a half or season and then either trade away the players or sit them. This is a stupid tactic and it blew up into his face. For a genius GM he somehow cannot grasp the very basics of rebuilding.

The first stage of grieve is denial.

I'm starting to like the idea of Isaiah Colier. After his injury, he played well, great driver, has an NBA body and would be a good backcourt partner with KG

There are IQ and efficiency questions with him, but his talent level could put him in the top 10. I like Sheppard, but I think the lack of size and limited self-creation might not work with the Jazz.

Me being from Australia and watching some of his games in Australian league Sarr isn’t that good surprised he is touted as number 1 proves this is a very weak draft

There isn't a true #1 pick in this draft. Sarr could possibly be like a bigger Derrick Favors if he adds some strength.

You may be right. I saw Colier play early in the season and he was a turn over machine. I saw him play a couple of times after his injury and his turnover were down and he played alot smarter. Allegedly he was #1 pg coming out of high school.
