Off-Season Rumblings

I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. LA is delusional. Correct me if I’m wrong but from what I understand, The soonest draft pick they can trade is four or five years from now?
I thought the Lakers had 2029 and 2031 available now and that on draft night either 2024 or 2025 becomes available - whichever one the Pelicans decide not to take (the Pelicans get to choose if they want the pick this year or defer it to 2025)

I think the Pels already deferred the draft pick to next year. I remember seeing that in Hoopshype timeline at one point.

EDIT: I went to Google to check this out. The decission deadline is June 1st and they are expected to defer, but havent made it official yet.

Its weird how hating on Gobert is such a big deal for you that you go from 3 posts per month to 10 posts per day once you get a reason to rip that guy.

Or are you actually hating on people in JFC who have fought you over the subject?
It's weird how 75% of this forum takes digs at Don to this day and are still Rudy fan boys, I just had to do my victory lap.

I guess thats sort of fair... but I dont think 75% of the board is against Don. I think there are just few of those who are very loud about it.

Personally I think both are great players, but I wouldnt pick either one top 3 in their position group (Guard/Center) if I was to build the best possible team out of current NBA players.

Pistons trade Fournier/5th pick/2028 unprotected pick for Sexton/10th pick.

Pistons get a perfect fit scoring guard next to their point guard Cade. They only get 5 spots worse in a draft where they may be able to get a win-now type player like Dalton Knecht or Devin Carter to help their team win now. The cost is their first available unprotected first. They owe their first round pick lottery protected pick til 2027. I believe they would still have max cap-space if they wanted to sign a win now player.

Jazz get to get the 5th pick, which hopefully Steph Castle is available. Sexton is a great player, but would be tough to retain without paying a large salary in 2 years. 2028 could be a massive pick.
