I realize the ramblings of a Utah fan are... Since nobody bothered to put together a game thread, I thought I would share my thoughts on this game. I realize the ramblings of a Utah fan are probably unimportant to the BYU faithful, but...oh well.

For the most part, I thought BYU looked pretty good. I was impressed by two players in particular - Nelson and DiLuigi.

I actually found myself rooting for the cougs (shudder) when Nelson was in the game. I rooted against them when Heaps was in. For some reason, I harbor an innate desire for him to fail. I'm not sure why.

If I were Bronco, I would hand Nelson the keys to the car and Heaps the keys to the washroom. Yeah, I know, he's young, inexperienced... fine. Nelson is clearly more of a leader. They need him much more than they need Heaps.

Washington put up a good fight, and I think Locker is the real deal - not Heisman material, but a quality college QB. But they couldn't close when it mattered. I thought we were going to see another drive like the end of the first half, but no dice.

It was an entertaining game. BYU could use a little work in the secondary, but what else is new. Police in Bosnia said that they have located the girl who caused global outrage this week after an online video of her surfaced, showing the blonde hurling six crying puppies into a river one by one.

The name of the girl, who is a juvenile, has not been released. But she was found after tips were received from animal protection groups in the country, London's Telegraph reported on Friday.

Police said the girl's parents will now be questioned.

The underage girl is from Bugojno, a central Bosnian town with a population of approximately 50,000.

A girl who claimed to be the one from the video posted a separate apology video on YouTube, CNET reported. She identified herself as Katja Puschnik.

Under one video frame, the apology said, "I would like to appologize for my behavior. The puppies belonged to my grandma and she told me to get rid of them because they were only 3 days and were ill. They had parasites from their mother. I didn't knew exactly what to do so I thrown them in the river because it was a short death. I did not want to make them suffer. I am really sorry for this :-( "

The video apology has since been removed, and the girl's identity could not be verified.

Velimir Ivanisevic, head of Sarajevo animal group SOS, said he was told the original video was filmed by the girl's brother.

"It is a mirror of society and the fact that young people are doing such things shows how they have been raised," Ivanisevic said.

The 44-second clip shows the young woman smiling as she picks several puppies out of a white bucket and viciously tosses them into rapidly moving river. At one point the girl exclaims "whee."

Under Bosnian law, a person who kills or tortures animals can be fined anywhere from $19 to as much as $6,400.

Animal rights groups around the world have condemned the girl's horrific actions. Several online groups have since been created, including several on Facebook.

One Facebook group, "Find the Girl who Threw Puppies in the River" has more than 47,000 followers.

These things are shockingly fun.

Near as I can tell they've taken the best parts of various other sports.

Professional Wrestling: All the players have completely absurd self-generated monikers (my personal favorite that's jazzfanz publishable was "Chantilly Mace"). Several had elaborate face painting and tattoo schemes. Playing to the crowd seemed to be encouraged.

Basketball: Hilarious jawing at the referees at all times. All fouls and penalties are met with an immediate claim that they've never fouled anyone in their whole life.

Hockey: There's a penalty box. Teams with a man advantage take part in a "power jam."

Football: It's seriously full contact (lots of elbows thrown and tons of nasty spills) and most of the game action appears to revolve around tactics very similar to run blocking while one designated player from each team tries to pass "the pack." As a result all the blockers are simultaneously trying to defensively block the other team while offensively pushing out space for their teammates. Lots of jukes, fast diagonal cuts, and even a few stiff-arms.

Baseball: To be honest, I only like going to baseball games for the concessions. Roller Derby was sponsored by Maker's Mark and PBR. This made the event 27% more fascinating.

Underground boxing: You want a seedy venue? The event was held in an industrial neighborhood in the East Bay at a warehouse in an abandoned shipyard. You can't make something like that up. They claimed it was called the "Craneway Pavilion." I've been there, it's a ****ing warehouse.

Also, they had some great swag. I definitely purchased a t-shirt for the Richmond team bearing this logo:



And the tickets were only $12.

We are less than a week away! So how do you guys see this game playing out? Here are the things I will be watching:

Pitts running game-will it be as good with there new offensive line?

Utah's defense-we know the line is good, but how will the linebackers and corners perform?

Jordan Wynn-how much has he grown from last season?
