Teams are really defined now by the type of player they play at the 1 and the 5. Everyone else 2-4, ideally, would be a long athletic, 2-way wing. So it's really a question of what style of center the Jazz are envisioning.
The best bang for the buck at the center position in this draft is probably Chomche. He's got the size, length and physicality to have an impact, plus there's a bit of passing and shooting touch to work with. He'll probably go in the 2nd half of the 1st round.
Otherwise, Kyle Filipowski could probably come in, develop and be similar to a Jusuf Nurkic maybe--someone who will move the ball, finish plays, space the floor a bit and play positional defense, if not guard the rim.
I just get the sense that the Jazz want to space the floor and create lanes for passing and cutting. I think the fact that the Jazz keep bringing Kessler off the bench is telling. I don't think it's just a matter of trying to build John Collins' trade value. I think they want everyone to be able to shoot and attack open space.
