2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

If we draft Rob Dillingham at 8 we'll all chip in and send you a pound of Pineapple Express.

How many of these guys do we need. I don’t care if he’s the greatest offensive player in the world we need to address our defense or we ain’t getting anything accomplished

Where’s the defense going to come from if we keep mindlessly adding all offense no defense? There’s only so much money and spots to go around

The front office is going to dismember Kessler and create a Frankenstein backcourt guard out of Kessler, Sexton, Dillingham and George and name it George Walker Sexham.

The more tape I watch of him the more I really want to trade up a little to guarantee we can snag him. With his archetype being so valuable I have a hard time believing that he drops to the thunder pick for us.
I doubt he goes in the first round. A lot can change between now and the draft, but the league just doesnt value G-League production and he wasnt viewed as a hot name prior to the G-League.

I really hope that is the case because we definitely see that every year. The fact that Sidy slipped to the mid 2nd round last year was crazy to me. He finally was healthy the last few games of the year and played very well.

Looking at more PIT guys and listening to Locked On, Drew Pember/Kevin Cross/Isaiah Crawford are three interesting names.

Drew Pember definitely doesnt look like a NBA player, but he has some silly stats. Dropped 23 on Auburn and 30 on UAB. Scored 40 on Taylor Hendricks last year. Had a 48 point game last year where he made 5 threes in a row to open the game. Averaged 3 blocks per game 2 years ago.

Crawford probably looks the most like a NBA player out of all the PIT guys. Can probably guarantee he's at least on a 2-way to open the year.

Cross just has a good overall game and enough size to be a prospect.

Aaron Estrada killed it today at PIT.

30-5-5 on 23 shots.

With Keon Ellis showing out a bit, Estrada might get a bit more attention. Alabama runs a pro-style offense and maybe these guys come out NBA ready.

I've been messing around on hoop-explorer.com. Great site, tons of info, janky interface I'm still getting used to. Here's a note on Sheppard with and without Dillingham:

With Dilly / Without Dilly

Total Possessions: 1401 / 1032
USG Rate: 16.2% / 24.2%
AST Rate: 20.8% / 27.2%
eFG%: 67.3% / 68.5%
FTr: 23.7% / 25.8%
TOV%: 21.6% / 19.3%

I'm not saying we should totally extrapolate his without Dilly numbers....but all of his numbers get better. At the very least, when it comes to projecting him in a higher usage role we can say he passed the test with flying colors last year.

Seriously, 24+ USG and 70%+ TS is INSANE.
