    A few thoughts on MCW after watching today's game:

    -doesn't seem to have a great touch around the hoop, ala Hayward.
    -gets to the FT line well (wtf was up with his shot today?)
    -his 3PT% is bad, but his form seems fine. It's not like some guys where you cringe whenever they pull up for a jumper.
    -as impressive as his 10.7 APG average is, I think it's even more impressive when you consider the fact that Syracuse has zero 3-point shooters.
    I don't like him for his shooting, but if he's a legit distributor with his size, he's intriguing.

    Harrow starting to show promise. Today;

    23pts
    4rbs
    4asts
    3stls
    1to

    handled the ball well, got to the rim and finished or went to the line. I don't love the guy, but obviously glad to see him getting better.

    Noel with 11pts, 10rbs, 2stls, 2blks
    Goodwin with a somewhat bad game, overall .. 19pts, I think..

    Let me clarify (for you, or whoever): Don't you think he could go top-10? Young, athletic 6-5 true PG producing at a winning, major program?
    Playing well is priority #1 and nothing outside of that is really even close. If you're hoping someone else ****s up, then you don't deserve the break.

    Short list at #14: CJ McCollum, Dennis Schroeder, Archie Goodwin, Kelly Olynyk

    Short list at #21: Steven Adams, Giannis Adetokunbo, Sergey Karasev, Nate Wolters

    2nd round: Carmichael, Hardaway Jr., Adonis Thomas, James Southerland

    Yeah, 27 points and 7 rebounds.

    The first thing that jumped out to me is that he's slimmed down a bit and doesn't seem so clunky while running. The announcers said he's reportedly lost 13 pounds in the past few weeks.

    Shabazz definitely showed off an arsenal of moves. Mainly post up opportunities, but he had a catch and shoot 3, a pull up jumper, and a few plays in the fast break. Oh, and he got to the FT line, of course. It's kinda bizarre how good his post up game is; he's a freshman SG for crying out loud. I actually have to wonder if he relies on his post game too much. I'm not sure how well that will work out for him in the NBA. I'd like to see him get more opportunities to create his own shot from the perimeter.

    The other main thing that deserves a mention is his motor. The dude is just relentless on the offensive boards (I think at least 5 of his 7 rebounds were offensive). He really seems to go non stop. Dude wants to win.

    Undoubtedly he could .. I just don't think he does. I was just posting my best guess, if you will.

    This is pretty much the book on 'Bazz. High motor, killer instinct, great on the boards .. and scores mostly close to the basket. He can shoot, but he has to get more comfortable in the midrange. It's always been speculated that he'll have a little trouble transitioning at each level because in HS he simply out muscled everyone he played against.

    Btw, anything I may have said that expressed any hope that Archie Goodwin can learn to play PG... no.

    It's way early, but I'm thinking the draft will go;

    1) 'Bazz
    2) Noel
    3) Zeller

    ... and then, imo, there's not a ton of separation (currently) between the next 17 - 20 players.

    Interesting. As things currently stand, we're looking at the #13 and #22 picks.

    DX has MCW at #13 (flanked at #12 and #14 by CJ McCollum, PG/SG, and Otto Porter, SF)
    DX has Sergey Kasarev at #22 (SF) and flanked by Trey Burke (PG) and Marcus Smart (SG/no thanks)

    Even though I'm not supremely high on any PG's in the draft .. I'd consider taking both MCW and Burke .. unless there's a kick ass SF to take .. but I'd take MCW over Porter and Burke over his flanks.

    Tony Mitchell: I have been a bit underwhelmed. NT has only played one ranked team (Creighton #16) and the other 11 games carry an average ranking of 227 (yikes).

    Tony is averaging 14.5pts and hitting 29% of his 3's. His blocks look pretty good, but they're against small white dudes. Now, if Cy jumps on the bandwagon, it will be the final nail and we'll know to stay clear of Mr. Mitchell.

    .
    EDIT: Not meaning to pile on, but holy hell.. when North Texas played SE Louisiana (ranked 329th and winless), Tony played 34 minutes and had;
    8pts
    10rbs
    0asts
    0stls
    3blks

    His opposition in that game is a starting lineup of all scrubs (one guy averages double figures - 11) and standing;

    5-9'
    6-2'
    6-3'
    6-6'
    6-7'

    (There are several other examples like this one .. I predict his stock begins to drop)
