I got a buddy whose son starts on the o-line and he drove up to Washington. He was saying how embarassing it is to be a Utah fan. Not because of the team but because of other Utah fans in the stands.

BYU 1984 National Champs.
Just checked, we're good. Thanks for checking up on me.
That was really just for NotPrettyChild and BYOB85, but you can take offense too if you want.
They enjoy it, so I am catering to their needs.
While I'm here I'm wondering if Wilson, you know Salty's future All-American, was channeling a little Riley and vice versa.
55 yards passing and 2.4 per PA.
Riley made one pass play that made me wonder who was throwing the ball. He threw a 53 yard pass to Apo, and he actually zipped it down the field, it was not a lame duck. Where the crap was that all season?
I'm still laughing at one of those Y FG attempts, it looked like a helium balloon that had the air let out of it, I think it may have landed in the student section.
I also appreciate fumbled punts that the other team recovers. Those teh best.
Football in this state is so awesome!
p.s. There were 1000 more fans that showed up in the terrible weather to watch BYU beat stinking Idaho, than showed up for Washington v Utah. You come up with your own excuses why this is acceptable.
Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
You must be a moran. Everyone knows the Yewt stadium couldn't hold anywhere near 60K fans like made it to the game, and there wasn't snow on the field that also had a big W on the field, and Washington in the endzones. Maybe you checked out this season already and didn't bother to watch the game? I'm also not going to believe when you talk about Ute fans traveling and then put all the blame on the Husky fans for not filling up a game between both your teams.
I saw the int, the fumble, and the inept offense for most of the game.
White was your only bright spot... oh wait, I saw a really nice play by Star. He wasn't enough to stop the W offense, but he made a play or two.
My point was that it's pretty embarrassing that a game between BYU and Idaho had more fans at it than a Pac 12 game, any Pac 12 game right... cuz the Pac 12 is awesome and it's made of money and it has the bestest teams and the bestest fans and the smartest students and they sell the best stickers. That must suck. You don't have to admit it, I know... it hurts too much. Too soon?

Lets make no mistakes about it, Utah has some problems going forward. Regardless of whether or not the likes of Spazz and Conan are in here making their idiotic comments saying as much, us Ute fans are aware of the problems (ok, maybe not Salty). The difference between Ute and Cougar fan is, the majority of Utah fans can at least own up to the fact that there's trouble in paradise. I've seen so many BYU fans (especially on this board) go out of their way to talk themselves into the fact that whatever BYU is doing must be great. BYU can put out a product that is chicken ****, and most Y fans will try to talk you into believing it's chicken salad.
This is going to be a huge offseason for Whit. The offense has progressively gotten worse over his tenure, the promotion of Brian Johnson to OC may end up working sometime down the line but it's certainly not working now, and the defense looks more suspect than it has in ages. With the verbals Utah has recieved for the 2013 class, they're very close to cracking the top 25 in recruiting classes but that will mean next to nothing if these coaching issues don't get sorted out. Whit has built up some good will thanks to the Sugar Bowl win, etc. but he's going to have a hard time posting another at or near .500 record in 2013.
There are some major issues brewing at Utah and it will be interesting to see if Whit can stem the tide. On the bright side, there still are a few positives:
-2 straight wins against BYU and 7 of the last 10
-We can at least get Michigan to agree to a home-and-home
-Our players don't sucker punch females at fast food eating establishmnents
-Our coach has a pulse
Is there "trouble in paradise" or growing pains? I compare the Utes moving to the Pac 12 to an expansion team. There will be good times but there will be a lot of hard times. I just want to see progress and hopefully in the not-so-distant future they can legitimately compete. Right now, they are playing a Pac 12 schedule with a MWC roster. That's good enough to beat ****ty teams like Northern Colorado and BYU, but not to go on the road and win in Tempe, Pasadena, Seattle, and Corvallis.
Fair enough, but I expected more. I didn't expect to win a PAC 12 title in the first couple years but I thought Utah could beat the crappy programs and the programs that happen to be down at the time. Beating Wazzu and losing to USC should be expected, but I also expect Utah to beat teams like Washington and UCLA when you look at how those teams currently stack up.
I think Brian Johnson can grow into his role, but maybe it's going to take a couple of years. Maybe it was too much, too soon. BYU is paying the price for promoting an OC before their time, Utah is probably in the same boat. I'll always be a Utah fan, but I refuse to behave as the sheep in Provo do. If my team is selling me an inferior product, I'm going to call it for what it is. I think this team has under achieved during its first to PAC years and I couple that with the fact that our staff was asleep at the will in regards to QB depth during that time. I would be a complete mess right now if it weren't for the fact that we're still beating BYU. I guess thank god for that.
