    NFL 12/13 Survivor League

Just like last year (this is the third year in a row I think I've done this, or maybe just the second). MoTown is the defending champ. I think it sent out emails to those who were in last year but it's possible they go to an account nobody reads so this is the general thread and invite to anyone who wants to participate.

The rules are pretty simple (for those who never played, this may be the "easiest" football related game you can play, and least time consuming). You just pick a single team to win the upcoming game that week. No spread, they just need to win. Once you pick a team you cannot pick them for the rest of the season. So if you pick the cursed Patriots to win in Week 1 that's the only time you can pick them to win a game. So it does pay to scout the schedule a bit I guess, but it's probably as equally luck as it is skill. Get one pick wrong, and you're done, although if only 6 or so people play I may bump it up to a double elimination. Last year we had 16 or so people so I'm hoping it stays the same or more join in. I think I got axed in Week 6 or so picking the Giants.

Anyways, here's a link to register:

Go to "join a group" and the below will get you in:

    Password: favors

Also, if anyone wants part of a pick em league let me know. I don't even have to set it up (though I'm happy to) but we can discuss if we want to do college or pro or do the spread or confidence points or whatever.
It started with Earl [Watson], Randy [Foye] and Marvin [Williams]–the veteran guys. I thought the young guys did a good job of following their lead getting us off to a good start. - referring to the Jazz/Bobcats game on 3/1/13

Earl, Randy, and Marvin started the first quarter 0-3, scored a whopping zero points, and finished with a turnover in the first quarter.

Rooting for The Tank is not rooting against the team; It's rooting for the franchise

I'm in as the DEFENDING CHAMPION.

That said, I probably just ensured I'll be out by week #2.

Hope we can get more. This kind of thing is a lot tougher than it seems. On the Browns board they just do it on the board probably 150+ sign up and there aren't many left towards the end. There are upsets every week and only guys that pick out of the box make it.

Last year I got bounced when Seattle beat NYG. Thought that was a gimme.

No shame in that. I think that game ousted about 1/3 of the guys in our league. I was fortunate on two of my games, but was looking at a few more tough ones before I ended up with a surprise early victory. The same strategy I used last year may oust me early this time...we'll see.
