My dog is getting worse. Gonna get some blood work done and sit down with the family to discuss our options...
Sorry to hear this. It sucks. We had to put down our 17 year old American Eskimo 2 weeks ago. This dog had been with us since our daughters were just 1 and 2. It was a bad day but it was time. She was deaf, blind and her back legs simply didn't work any longer. She slept all day and had to be carried out to use the bathroom.
Good luck. I hope you find some peace in whatever decision you make.

Having a dog put down is never an easy thing to do but find peace in knowing that your dog is no longer suffering. When I had to put my male Basset Hound down a few years ago, I cried like a baby I'm not afraid to admit. He was my boy before we had kids but I couldn't allow him to suffer.
I am absolutely dreading the day I have to part with one of my dogs. We've had our chocolate lab since before we had kids. He's only 9 right now, so we should have quite a few really good years left. I'm feeling for you Ms. fanatic.
He passed away this afternoon. Had plans to try some other antibiotics, but he stopped breathing on his own half an hour after I dropped him off at the vet. I am devastated. Trying to hold myself together at work.
I'm truly sorry to hear that. Why work? Go home and grieve.
This is never easy. I'm sorry for your loss.
****, I'm so sorry.
Very sad to hear. You have my sympathy jazz_fanatic.
Not that it makes it easier to hear others say sorry and share their experience, it just sucks no way around it.
When I was 7th grade we had same thing happen, had two dogs both since before I was born a Afghan and a mutt (terrier cocker spaniel mix) so they both were 12+ yrs old. The Afghan he got out one day and got in a fight with 2x Akitas and while at the vet the little dog who never ventured out of the yard much so we assume she went out looking for him. Well came home from school to find her laying in the back yard already passed away from the injuries and the Afghan died at the vet earlier in the day.
So yeah just saying I can relate to the feeling and it just plane sucks.
Thanks, everyone. And yeah, it does royally suck.![]()
I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Seriously, as someone who put his dog down less than a year ago and cried like a baby for a good 20 minutes while in the room with him both before, during, and after the process, I know how awful it feels to lose such a friend and family.
