Gas prices are held up by the oil companies that will charge whatever they feel like charging, regardless of the price of a barrel of oil.

Why the hell should we be paying higher healthcare costs? We already have some of the highest costs in the world.

the fact that you are ready to (1) reduce health care and care giving to a commodity right out of the gate, and (2) equate that commodity with oil -- especially foreign oil -- is just too over-the-top laughable.
