As the Bible says, the geek shall inherit the earth. ;-)
They start out being largely programming that can be done with "brute force", but then (around 50-80 problems in) they kind of switch to requiring a good knowledge of math to figure out how you should write your programs so that they will finish in less than your lifetime. :-) Consequently I've learned a lot of number theory in the last two months!

I got a B.S. in Math in addition to my degree in physics, and have always enjoyed programming. So it's a pretty good fit... although people with an even better math background are definitely at an advantage for the higher numbered problems.
I never knew Colton was Asian. Are you related to Ann by chance?
Two jobs, five kids. That's pretty easy math. I might give it a try in 10 years or so.
What does a friend key do?

Friend keys allow you to see which problems the other person has solved.
I hear ya. (I typically work on problems on my laptop while watching TV.)
