I don't think either will be resigned, and I'd expect there will be active trade discussions around both at the deadline.

Yes, two years ago was what I was referring to :-)
As much as Al sucked when he first came over here, I remember many people on this board talking about trading him.
I would've taken Big Fes holding up the middle with Sap, Kirilenko, Iguodala and Deron obviously.
Wouldn't you have?

Here's what I hope they do. Trade Al for whatever you can. Preferably a 1st (probably would be lottery protected). Let Milsap and Favors play together. Offer Milsap 10-12 million per year. If he won't take it, trade him (if you know he won't come back for that price) this year for a young pg or big and lets see what we have in Kanter and Favors. If you think he might come back, offer him the 10-12 million in the off-season and if he doesn't take it, move on without him.
With the extra money or trades they need to bring in a young PG (I like Bledsoe if they could get him somehow), and a 3rd big (unless Milsap re-signs).
I am fascinated with the puzzle Big Al is for the Jazz organization. There are only three things the Jazz can do...
1. Resign Big Al
2. Let his contract expire and take his salary for somebody else
3. Trade him before the trade deadline
I am willing to bet that if you had to have an answer now from the Jazz, it would be to resign him. If we let him expire, it's not guaranteed that we would be able to get a quality free agent. If they are going to trade him before the deadline, they need to find another team willing to trade something of equal salary. That become pretty complicated. I'm excited to see what the Jazz do with this puzzle.
Its looking like the Jazz will have two picks this year, so I think both will expire to make room for two lottery picks. The Jazz can probably get a future 1st rounder for Millsap from a playoff team that both needs a PF upgrade and has money to resign him (Indiana?)
If the Jazz feel Mo isn't working out as the deadline approaches, and think they won't resign him, they might shop Sap for the best available PG they can get.
How is this guy here? I have a clean history and ended up getting an infraction that didnt expire for like 10 months because I posted a picture that had very mild profanity in it. For anyone who witnessed the entire board taken over with porn, this was less than, what, three months ago? I thought for sure this was perma-ban. Amazing.
It started with Earl [Watson], Randy [Foye] and Marvin [Williams]–the veteran guys. I thought the young guys did a good job of following their lead getting us off to a good start. - referring to the Jazz/Bobcats game on 3/1/13
Earl, Randy, and Marvin started the first quarter 0-3, scored a whopping zero points, and finished with a turnover in the first quarter.

Even though the conventional wisdom is to never trade big for small, if the Jazz could get a competent PG in their mid 20s for Al (or to a lesser degree Sap...I have a bias with Sap being one of my favorite Jazz players of all time) I would be giddy.

I think it's funny when people say, stuff like "if we could get derka derka for Al, I guess I'd be ok with it."
Al is NOT an asset. The only thing we are getting for him is other peoples problems and cast offs.
You will get nothing, and like it!

Trade jefferson for a back up PG and a lottery draft pick.
