Hindsight is 20/20. We also could have had any player that is worse than Hayward picked before him. With respect to the Valanciunas crowning, there is a lot of time to see what he and Kanter will become. We could have had Kenneth Faried as well. But let's not stop there. We could have had Manu Ginobili. In two years we'll know much more, but playing the game of could have had is mindless because 30 teams are trying to find talent everywhere in the world. There are just too many variables to nail it. Anyone who is reasonable can see that.
Of the three players you mentioned: two weren't even in the same draft, and the third is shooting a worse FG%, and only outscoring Hayward by 0.2PPG. All while playing 7mpg more.
You and I, along with every poster here (should) know that it is WAY to early to determine who will have the better career between George and Hayward. People are too busy ragging on Hayward, and not realizing that he is averaging 14.1 PPG even though he's shooting 26% from three. What happens when his percentages increase?
He struggles with his shot still. No one can deny that. It just isnt all there. But his defense is great. So that makes him better than CJ imo. Plus other things he does. He is just smarter. But he really needs to become a better scorer. Both driving and shooting.
People are forgetting when he stuffed the **** out of Derozan end of the 1st half... that was sick
I like Hayward. Period.

a) thought this thread was about Hayward
b) LOL @ rebounding. What, Hayward is supposed to average 8 per on a roster with Jefferson, Millsap, Favors, Marvin Williams and Kanter? Only thing I'll give George a nod on for the time being is assists; but we know historically how that stat will play out (hint: in Hayward's favour)
Lets get real...we could have had Dominique Wilkins. Anyone know his first name was Jacques? I had no clue and he was my favorite dunker back in the day.
That being said, I like Haywood....and Alex.
Hayward lacks aggressiveness. Change that and there is no longer an argument.
"Back off Warchild, seriously.."
