If I recall, there were numerous posters who stood up for Carroll when NBAnerd was telling everyone that it was a mistake to pick up his option, earlier this season. Carroll's play has not shocked me at all; it was so blatant from the last 10 games of the season, along with game 4 of the playoffs, that this dude can play.

I think it was a mistake to not start him last year in the playoffs
We might have had a chance with him instead of Howard, plus Favors for 38 min a game.

Seems like Hayward and Marv are better off the bench, Carrol injects that energy into the starting group and both units have a bit of everything.

I'm definitely a Carroll hater. But I am warming up to him. As I said in another thread, my fear is we're reaching Roger Bell territory. That is, when he starts playing unproductively, which will happen soon, Ty will mistake his "energy" or "intangibles" as a reason he just can't take him out of the lineup.
My sense about Carroll is he's a classic 5th wing that you bring in for defense, a spark, or just because you have to. But if he strings 5 or 10 more games like the last few, I might start to believe he brings real value.

I am glad to have him, but I haven't forgotten how downright clumsy he has been at times. When things slow down, he isn't that great but if thing keep moving, he gets momentum and plays well. Solid keeper if he doesn't mind a reasonable contract.
