What would put this Jazz team to the next level?

Oddly enough we are actually ranked 4th in FG% allowed and are 6th allowed in points per possession. Our defense, at least from a basic statistical perspective, is fairly good.

I think you're looking at points per shot. That's not the same thing as points per possession, which is the better measure of defensive efficiency.

What the Jazz need is to get rid of players who pout when they come off the bench. Raja? Millsap? We thankfully got rid of Boozer already. Deron never forgave Sloan for coming off the bench his first year, probably part of why he left. I don't know how Burks is reacting, but I imagine it has something to do with his lack of time. The Jazz have too many players who think they are chiefs but who are really indians, and it's causing a leadership problem. Frankly, I think Jefferson should come off the bench, he isn't exactly a strong starter. For some reason, he plays his best ball at the end of games anyway.

End analyses: Al is going to be paid too well for a bench guy, and so is Millsap, so they either get traded or go away in free agency. Unfortunately, if they both go our front line is going to be too thin, so draft a solid reasonably paid C/PF with the Golden State pick (the kind of guy who doen't feel that he has to start to be productive) Start Favors and Marvin at the 5/4 (you heard me, Marvin, he can do it, look at his mesurables) with Kanter backing them both along with draft guy. That opens up the 3 for Hayward, with Burks at the 2 and Mo starting. I think we'd win a lot of games and all or our 'core' guys get time this way.

This is the way San Antonio has done things for years, along with the Lakers. Draft solid bench guys who don't demand 10 mil per year contracts and focus on the star talent. Who gives a rats parts who the 10'th player on the bench is, it's all about the 'core' guys.

With all the talk of the Jazz contract situation at the end of this year, Eric Bledsoe is a good possibility for the Jazz.
Question is, is Bledsoe what we need at the PG spot? I haven't watched enough Clippers games to tell, but I do know he's extremely athletic.

Tinsley played great last night and has had 23 assists in the last 2 games.

He had a good number of dimes, but is not very good at shooting or defense. He got lucky on 2 calls late in the game that will be called as fouled most nights.
There were times he was abused on defense. 12 dimes against the Kings is anything to get crazy for, but it's a nice number.

If you think he's the answer Chad so be it. I hope he is, because I like the guy personally. I just don't see it.

Marvin is not a PF, whatever his measurables are doesn't mean he plays like a PF.

Burks is not part of this team. He's not even getting 10th man minutes, let alone someone who's in consideration for a starting spot. We don't need to get creative with our starting line-up to make room for him.
