Another well written article on why the NBA is UNWATCHABLE!
...another well written article on why the NBA is UNWATCHABLE....and has been for years! Even when games are "close" down to the wire, it doesn't make them 'watchable!" ....and keep in mind this includes/involves ALL NBA teams in the league...not just the Knicks! As Mushnick so eloquently puts it:
"Dribble it up slowly spread the floor, try to get a shot off before the shot clock told and tolled that it was time to do the same thing, the other way."
"Was it a close game? Indisputably. A good game? Only if one confuses close with good. I dont care if the Knicks win 60 games; they play bad-on-the-good-senses basketball at best, successful bad basketball."
I'm pretty confident that any basketball purist on our board would agree wholeheartedly with his assessment! Then again, some of "hopper" types on this board would disagree and insist that NBA basketball today is the "best show on earth!" Poor fellows.

No. Seriously. What is he trying to say in those quotes?
-
WTF is, they play bad on the good senses basketball?

WTF is this
Dribble it up — slowly — spread the floor, try to get a shot off before the shot clock told — and tolled — that it was time to do the same thing, the other way."
Speak english mo foes.

....good basketball to watch has lots of ball movement, crisp passing, pick and rolls, cuts to the basket, high percentage shooting, etc. etc. etc. Pathetic basketball is one guy dominates the ball for 15-18 seconds of the shot clock....then launches an off balance long range jumper with a man growing out of his ear....that clangs off the backboard....because it had a 25-30% chance of going in to start with!
