The hell is up with his minutes? Is Reno trying to do the whole "win-now" thing with veterans as well?

He's seventh in minutes played. Darnell Jackson that was in the Jazz training camp is their leading rebounder at 8 per game with an 11 point scoring average.

You don't get minutes shooting .31 percent. No matter what your contract status. It doesn't really matter how good he does, he is literally the 14th man on the bench. If he gets better, we use him in emergency. If he falters, he disappears into the same realm where Almond is.

On the DLeague website there are some interesting players putting up good numbers who were once in the NBA. There seem to be a lot of former late first early second round draft picks hanging in the league. Even our buddy Jeffers is back down there for another try.

The Reno Bighorns (2-2) defeated the Bakersfield Jam (4-3), 106-86 Saturday at the Reno Events Center.

The Bighorns’ offense was too much for the Jam to handle, with five Bighorns in double-digits led by Utah Jazz assignee Kevin Murphy, who had 26 points on 10-19 from the field. Sacramento Kings’ assignee Tyler Honeycutt had a game-high 40 minutes to go with his game-high 15 rebounds and 17 points. Forward Marcus Landry shot 9-12 from the field, including 5-8 from the three point line, good for 23 points.

Renaldo Major led the Jamwith 19 points. Center Brian Butch recorded a double-double, with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Jam kept it close throughout the fourth quarter but were done in by 26 turnovers. The Bighorns held the Jam to 41.4 percent shooting. Reno also had 22 assists, compared to Bakersfield’s 11.

The Bighorns will face the Jam again at home at 7 p.m. Monday. Monday is Season of Giving Night, where any fans who bring a can of food or toiletry item to donate will receive a free ticket to the game.
