OK, you answered that later. Based on you description of your sister's friend, I don't think anyone would argue you have to approve of his behavior or like him as an individual. However, that's an unusual description of "acceptance", and generally not the one intended by the activists I've read on the subject.

However... your acceptance is of no consequence to me. I generally like reading your posts, and consider you an asset to the board, but there is little doubt in my mind that you have nothing but burning disdain for dummies like me. I have no problem with that, you're probably justified, but don't mistakenly believe that I desire your approval.

Are you just messing with him, pete? I don't remember him having any issues with their sexuality, specifically, or proclaiming them sinners for their lifestyle.

But if you don't like someone who is gay, regardless of the reason, it's frequently assumed (by gay and non-gay alike) that your motives are bigoted, and you are labeled as such. Of course, if their sexuality is the reason, then yeah, you really are a homophobe.
