I still think it's funny that just last year how many of the posters people would call "smarter than others" on this site said Rondo was garbage because he can't shoot. When all is said and done, he'll be known as one of the greatest pg's of this generation.

I always appreciated you weighing in on those discussions. I couldn't believe the numbers of people calling him overrated, bad for the jazz because he can't shoot .. etc.

I can live with that. It's important to have one guy on your team that your fans love and everyone else hates.

I've said this before, here, but I'll say it again with more brevity..

I know him very well. He's hung out at my house maybe 20 times, partied with him 50 times ..
Most people who know him don't like him. (I do.)

He's so incredibly focused, so intense, that he makes people uneasy. If he senses weakness, he addresses it (teammates). He is almost too driven, too ambitious, too much of a perfectionist.

At UK, then coach Tubby Smith hated that Rondo pushed the coach for more.. longer practices, more instruction, more one-on-one time .. it really was a tough relationship because Jonny expected more of his coach.

I guess what I am trying to say is that most people think he's a total ass .. but I must admit that I totally get him (I know..).

He gets along REALLY well with others that are driven to be the best, to win, and push themselves to the brink .. those that are less driven find him too over-bearing. I guess I'm saying he's an ass, but an ass for the right reasons. (and I know that's debatable)
