family friendly things to do in Vegas

Never been to Vegas before, but my family and I will be spending a day there later this month. Any suggestions for family-friendly stuff to do that I should consider? (And not too pricey would also be good, if possible.)

Walk the Strip and collect as many of the free trading cards being handed out as possible.

Seriously, maybe the roller coaster at New York, New York, the lions at MGM, or the aquarium at Mandelay Bay. Vegas and "famiy friendly" don't exactly go together.
The road to Hell is paved with good intentions and congested by Idaho drivers in the left lane.

If it was hot you could just stay at the pools and at night go see movies or family freindly shows. Not really sure what to do during the day. There are a few nice malls to go to. You could also drive out to do a tour of the Hoover Dam.

Also I agree with the Mandalay Bay Aquariaum or just like any other city go bowling.

The dolphin exhibit at the Mirage? is pretty cool, most hotels have some type of exhibit that is family friendly.

We always watch the free shows at Circus Circus, even before we had kids. They run every 1/2 hour and cover various circus exhibitions, with some added Vegas flair. Bellagio foutains at night and the Mirage erupting volcano, then go inside to see the white lions if they still have them.

Don't take your kids to the TI pirate show. Trust me when I say hasn't been kid friendly ever since the rebuild. Way too risque & actually embarrasing to have in public.

MGM's lion exhibit is a waste of time.

Excalibur used to have free magic & bird shows, things like that for kids.

Mac King is mostly clean, a little innuendo was all I noticed. If you want to see a show and can get discount tickets then it's not a bad cheap option.

You can also drive out of town to see the "wild" burrows that will eat out your car window if you let them (it's illegal too). There's a family attraction place up there with a train ride, an old west comedy play, and a stinky petting/feeding zoo that's not too bad. http://www.bonniesprings.com/ It was half meh to me but the wife and kids seemed to like it.

    Lion Exhibit no longer exists.

Check out Springs Preserve, Ethel Ms Chocolate Factory, Stratosphere and its rides, Adventuredome at Circus Circus, Hoover Dam, Bonnie Springs and Red Rock. There is a lot to do off the Strip, but the Strip has become so Sex crazed its not really the best place. As Franklin said that TI show is such a joke now. On the strip walking thru the Forum Shops and Venetian Shops are pretty amazing for kids. The gondola singers at Venetian and the animatronic shows at the forum shops seems to excite kids. Shark Reef at Mandalay is pretty cool.

See a show! I saw The Lion King last summer and it was absolutely amazing. I think their final show was in 2011, though.

Edit: Oh, you said not too pricey. Nevermind.

Stay OFF east side of STRIP in about the center of the blvd. If you've got kids you'll want to punch someone.

Stratosphere is pretty cool. Especially the rides on top of it. Your little kids might not like this though.
M&M factory/store thing is pretty cool for kids.
Hoover Dam is about 30 minutes away. If you've never seen it might be interesting.

    Bull crap.

    Coke World
    M&M World
    Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay
Ney York New York Roller coaster
    Dolphins at Bellagio
    Buffet at the Rio
    KGB (burger joint) at Harrahs
Circus Circus (for younger kids, keep them CLOSE as in holding your hands close)
Freemont Street Show (ceiling is a giant TV screen basically)
    Madam Toussads Wax Museum
Plus there are some shows that older kids might like such as Lion King or Blue Man Group
    Fashion Place Mall
    Treasure Island Pirate ship show

Most of those are right on the strip.
