That's ok, he had a very forgettable career.
I stopped cheering for him when he $%^#@ over BYU. Made his decision while still on his mission (that's not right) and made it too late for BYU to recruit a center to replace him. BYU was expecting him to return to the team, held his spot open, and then he bailed. If he was going to think about other things and take care of personal business while on his mission, he should have made the decision early in the recruiting period. BYU coaches couldn't contact him; he should have had the decency to at least tell them he was seriously considering not returning.

What's the deal with LDS players and missions, anyway? I don't recall Ainge doing it at any point during his NBA or college career. Or Chambers. Or Jimmer. Actually, I don't recall any other LDS player but Bradley taking time off to go on a mission.

Missions aren't mandatory.
Nor did Donny Osmond back in the day. Actually I should commend Bradley for going on a mission. Every young man is encouraged/expected to go on a mission, but it still comes down to individual choice. And it could be argued that when an LDS male is in the spotlight as much as an Ainge, Bradley, Steve Young, or Jimmer, etc., the visibility they give the LDS Church is far greater if they stay in that spotlight than if they go to some 3rd world country like Moscow, Idaho. Fame is fleeting. And being out of sports or music for 2 years might just mean an end to relevancy..
