Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Locke mentioned Rondo as a possible trade... Boston's probably looking to rebuild and Rondo's their biggest trade chip.
Said Boston would probably want 2 of Favors, Burks, Kanter, Hayward + maybe a pick for Rondo. Also mentioned some stories about Rondo being a jerk and that his teams have been rated in the lower end of the league on offense despite having a stellar PG + Allen and even Pierce. Kinda turned me off Rondo tbh.

It's because Rondo is the only player on that roster that could get them a decent haul of new young talented players. Pierce gets them maybe one. Garnett gets you one but Rondo would get you the most back by far!
And after this year only Rondo wont make Celtics an attractive place for FAs. They're getting old and moving away swiftly from being a contender. So getting picks and young pieces for Rondo wont be a bad move by them.
Also in the near future there is no elite fa's; that who used to play in small market, hungry for a ring and therefore happily would unite with other ringless future HOFs. So imo completing big three with Allen&Garnett was a circumstantial thing and very unlikely to happen again. So they should get in a rebuild mode at some point.

Sounds too good to be true. If you can turn Al into a piece that you could actually desire (Gallinari is having a bit of a down year, but an intriguing talent, especially given the dearth of a clear-cut SF to move forward with), then, AMAZING. You'd HAVE to clear a wing or Burks would NEVER see the floor, though.
