A lot of very good players have had a lot of very positive things to say about Hayward after playing against him.
I like that.
ALso noteworthy: I can;t think of the link at the moment, but Lebron James singled out Gordon Hayward as the only Jazz player he complimented BEFORE the game began. Something to the tune of "He's a very, very good player in this league". I could have jibbed the wording though.
Add Lebron to the list of Kobe, Phil Jackson, Dirk, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Chris Mullen.........
Do these people say the same things about Paul George?
Locke is always saying that players are pretty much who they are after 3 years, but with Hayward I wonder if he's different. He seems to approach the game from so many different angles that maybe he's still figuring things out a bit. There are some guys that continued to improve well after their first 3 years, Steve Nash is one of them.
I think we haven't seen what Favors, Burks and Kanter are capable of yet. Limited minutes, shortened season last year ect. Give them some starting minutes and we'll see what we got
I think that the 3 years thing is only applied when said player has recieved alot of minutes for those 3 years.... so for favors, kanter, and burks this rule would not apply.
I think favors, kanter and burks have ALOT of improvement coming. (plus kanter and burks have only been in the league 1.5 years)
Edut: Actually kanter and burks have been in the league less than 1.5 years, due to the lockout shortened season in thier rookie seasons.... So i think those two will improve ALOT more.... now if only they could get alot of consistent minutes.
I love Hayward's game, and his attitude. He works hard, and though he does make mistakes here and there he always seems to make up for it, probably purposefully, with a big play. He can shoot, go to the rim, block, defend, and facilitate for others. His game reminds me a lot of AK's, only with a jump shot, reasonable contract, and without the injuries. He's a better athlete than I thought initially. He's got a really complete game and he's a Jazz type player.
I think he won't really hit prime for another year or two. I hope he sticks around a long time.
You know squat. You know less than squat. You and Squat could go to the movies and Squat could wear an "I'm with Stupid" t-shirt!
I just had a haygasm
