I would do that but I don't think Memphis would. I also think that Utah is leaning towards trading Millsap than Jefferson, since Millsap will be almost impossible to re-sign.
Doesn't it make more sense to pay a player outside of our core 4, a high salary now (like Gay), instead of signing Jefferson or Millsap to a 4 year deal? Won't their contracts be more of a threat to hinder us from signing all 4 of our young guys, because they are longer? Gay may be over paid, but at least its less years.
