    Stock Picks

Anyone have stock picks they feel are strong plays right now?

If so, post and state why they're strong iyo.

Thought this could be an interesting thread.

I'm completely and utterly out of the market right now. Granted, there is money to be made on the short term, but not for us long term fellas. Cash is king as far as Im concerned...at least until I see something positive in regards to the economy de-leveraging.

I'm currently invested in an airline efficiency technology corporation called Aisystems (or ASYI). I seem them as a solid pickup right now for relatively quick profits, they're a cheap stock too (trading right now under 30 cents). I'll probably sell sometime in the summer of next year, unless they come through on some of their hype. Could be a good short term or long term hold.

    Here's some info
    http://finance.yahoo.com/news/AISyst....html?x=0&.v=1

I bought the stock around the time the company went public at a price significantly higher than it is now. And I'll stand by this statement, if one bought ASYI right now at 26 cents they'll make 50 cents on the dollar within a month. All my equity is tied up in this stock right now (which I should have sold when it was back up at .60, and carpet bagged a few weeks ago at 18), but I'm not nervous at all that I won't make my money back.

I just invested a large sum into power balance wristbands. They are awesome. It works with your natural energy field and the hologram also naturally energizes your natural energy field.
Even Lamar Odom endorses it. http://www.powerbalance.com/lamar-odom

Oh and if BYU football ever goes public, I'm definitely buying that.

If you wait until you see the Robins, spring will be over.

10% in Dollars and Yen - just to keep cash flow stability in my margin account.

    20% in Oil

And then I trade probably about 15 times a day on margins and funnel any profits I've got from there into more commodities.

    That qualifies as insanity.

Crappy company with crappy management in a commodity business. What is your thesis?

Understand. I would be interested how you make your trading decisions. Based on the limited stuff you posted, seems like you break virtually all the rules of short term trading. 15 trades a day seems like a total exercise in futility.

My sentiments exactly. Klaus Kleinfeld can't stay away from corruption allegations. He had problems at Seimens and Alcoa has been charged with bribery, among other things.

The alluminum business will only get better with rising oil prices. Alcoa would be great if shareholders fire management and replace them with some competent folks. Go get Bill Doyle after the BHP deal gets done, if ever.
