Ty the turd already on thin ice with me

I became disgusted by him being Sloan's successor after watching him just completely drop the ball with our rotation when he took over. He didn't figure it out until the last couple games of the year. I still have severe issues with how he handled Hayward's minutes last year.

Now I read an article in the SL Trib about him saying the competition between C.J. and Hayward is really good. They should both be starting, not one over the other. If he's starting one of them at the 3 and Bell at the 2 then there is no question he should be fired immediately. I can't think of who would fill that other starting spot unless he's planning on starting Al, Favors and 'Sap at the 3. I wouldn't be as mad if it was the latter because I'd be curious as to how that worked out, but if it doesn't and he doesn't end up starting both then it will just be obvious he isn't cut out to be a head coach.

My blood is starting to boil just writing this post. Hopefully Bell suffers a career ending injury before the preseason starts so it won't be an issue. We'll lose a lot of games if he's a starter and playing significant minutes.

Might've been smart to make Bell, a player-coach -- that way one less coach to hire and less minutes playing and more minutes coaching for Bell. He seems like the type who would be a good coach.

Is bell seriously an option to start? I think you are boiling over nothing.

I am especially concerned about Corbin being Sloan's predecessor. That would have put him here over twenty years ago.

I am willing to wait and see how he does as Sloan's successor though. We really don't have enough information yet to judge what he is doing or where he is headed with Hayward, CJ, and Bell.
(I agree though... I will be disappointed if Bell is much more than a mentor for the better younger guys). ;-)

A career ending injury? So you want the guy to get hurt? What a jackass. I am no fan of Bell and I think he was horrendous last year but I dont want the guy to get hurt. You need to relaxe a little. Also Corbin said the competition between Miles and Hayward was really good. That does not mean that they both cant start. Just that they are really haing a good competition and pushing each other. Isn't that what we should want as fans? Them challenging and pushing each other to be better?

Locke was giddy over his boy Burks yesterday. He predicted that Burks would be the starter at sg. He said all the veteran players said that Burks was by far the best player of all the young players. He said Burks was already drawing comparisons to other NBA stars.

Locke backed off later and said that for development purposes and to keep his confidence, perhaps Burks shouldn't start right away against Kobe, but he saw Burks starting before season ends. I don't think it will mater much who starts the first game or the first month of games, I will be interested to see who is starting in February, March, and April (if they are in play for the post season).

Dont be to shocked if it happens. We still might sign another wing which could change things.

Yes it would be a huge mistake to start bell. Why the hell don't we just dump him?

I don't like bell starting any more then the rest of you, but you do need some fire power on the bench. Bell could start, but that's not a complete disaster as long as he doesn't play more then 10 to 15 minutes. Ty is more worried about winning then just playing young guys. This is his livelihood, it's easy for us to say sacrifice wins to play the young players, but if Ty thinks this way he could be out the door. There is a ton of pressure for coaches to win now.

We can blame some of this on the lockout shortened TC and preseason. There just isn't time to fully acclimate Burks to the pro game. It's possible Ty wants some scoring off the bench from the wing position, so ether Miles or Hayward needs to play starter minutes off the bench. Then if and when Burks is ready to play, the Jazz take Bell out of the starting lineup and make Burks the primary bench player on the wing to be a scoring threat.

Everyone needs to relax, bell isn't going to kill the Jazz. There is a good chance he will be better then last year, with a full year of being back from injury.

If we still didnt have to pay him I am sure we would. If we have an opportunity to sign a wing for 5-8 million I wonder if we would then.

First, you need to calm down. No one knows who will start. Secondly, I guess you were wanting Sloan fired because he started Bell too. Thirdly, I actually thought Corbin did a good job last year. I know the record wasn't great but he was flexible enough to play the players who were playing the best. He had to deal with all the drama, injuries and the legacy of following Sloan. Fourth, the players seem to like and respect Ty so that is a bonus. The change that he has made defensively has only received positive comments from the players. Perhaps they will buy into it more if they agree with what the coach is doing. Lastly, in the end everyone should want the best players playing, if it becomes obvious that Bell isn't then fans can get mad if they continue to play him. However, they haven't even started playing yet so how about some patience? As far as wanting a player to get injured, sorry it is immature and disgusting. Why not hope that you are wrong and Ty proves that he is reasonable and smart enough to put the best players on the court?
