He was announcing the game last night on TNT. He could not stop raving about Kanter. Said things like they will run the offense through him, and i quote 'and why not'. He hardly talked about any other player except Steven Adams because of the Kanter situation. If the rest of the. Hall of Famers are as excited about Enes like Reggie and pretty much the entire national media, ESPN etc, the Jazz and DL are now the laughing stock of the league.


Enes shot 6 FTA yesterday and had 1 assist. Something fans said he could not do. Well he is now that a real team is built around him and the offense is ran through him as it should have been here.

Westbrook is leading the NBA is it's since Kanter (17,10,11). Kanter makes everyone around him better when utilized properly. Go KU!
 
Almost forgot. Westbrook has almost all triple doubles since Kanter. His only not was 21/17/8. Why is he all the sudden looking like MVP?
 
THe team is built around Kanter? WTF? Lmao. Westbrook is the reason that team is having success. Kanter had endless opportunity to show his stuff here, he failed. If he that team succeeds and Kanter performs well offensively it is a result of playing with a top 3 player and eventually two top 3 players in the league. And they will see his defense as well, which is awful. His inability to pass out? Yeah that will get old too.

This whole argument is asinine.
 
He would have looked pretty good here if he had a real PG that commanded everyone's attention and no other real scoring threats on the team (Ibaka has improved, but is not an offensive juggernaut by any means).
 
Um, 1 assist is something to get excited about? You also failed to mention his 3 TO's.

Nope, the Jazz are not the laughing stock of the league. Have you noticed the press Rudy Gobert has been getting?

There was NEVER any question about Enes' ability to score and rebound. Given 35 mins/per, he can put up 20/10, just as Boozer did, just as Big Al did (well, close enough). The question with Kanter has always been about his defense.

The question for Utah was whether or not they valued Kanter at $16M/per. His agent had already stated, either directly or with that "best of his generation" comment that a max contract was the only thing they'd accept. And stipulation #2 was to increase Enes' minutes. Doing so would have made Gobert a permanent backup (and a trade would have then needed to be made). Or I guess they could have sent Favors to the bench and had Kanter playing the 4 (and traded Derrick after that).

It all comes down to how much do you value a very good offensive scorer, but a guy who can't protect the rim and is not quick enough to guard 4's or get out on switches. Enes will always put up impressive offensive statistics. And that's all guys like Miller and casual fans focus on.

Let's see what happens next summer and in 2016. I seriously DOUBT OKC is going to offer the $ Enes demands. He'll go to the highest bidder and OKC will have given up assets for a 1 1/2 year rental.

And let's also see what happens when a) Adams comes back and Enes plays a bit less and b) when Durant returns and Enes gets fewer touches on offense.
 
Locke said the advanced analytics showed the Jazz that by trading Kanter, it would only make a difference in one more loss. I guess that was the Laker game...:)
 
Basically what it comes down to is that we were only keeping Kanter OR Gobert. Sure, we said we would have liked to have kept both and had an awesome front court rotation, but realistically that wasn't going to happen. So the onliest question you have to ask yourself is: would you prefer to have Kanter or Gobert?

To me this is a no-brainer, which is why I have moved on.
 
Kanter found a good spot for himself. That's great for him, if unfortunate that it isn't for the Jazz. I can move on.
