I hope to have my first ever lager, Honey Hole (in honor of FishonJazz and TroutBum) ready for this game, along with half my batch of #9 (the first half is gone and I've been good about staying off the other half) and some Third Cousin Scottish Ale (kegging now).
The lager brew was inspired by Salt City Brew Supplies inaugural Lagerpalooza https://www.saltcitybrewsupply.com/beercomp/ and some of my favorite people from Jazzfanz, Trout and fishonjazz. Its a Classic American Pilsner (also known as a pre-prohibition pilsner). It was brewed with pilsen malt, flaked maize and honey.
#9 is a fairly simple brew with base grain and a little carapils with centennial hops (the hops that typify Bell's Two Hearted). Brewed in honor of PKM (RIP) and the UK Wildcats. By the time of this tourney we'll know the results of that tourney and possibly be drinking this in honor of #9 national championships.
Third Cousin is what I brew to take the place of the ESB I used to make because now I know more about what ESB is supposed to be...but like what "my" ESB used to taste like. It's a malty, slightly dark, hardly hopped ale with low carbonation. I brew it with a Scottish ale yeast at basically lager temps (55f) for a super clean and dry beer.
As always, I encourage my guests to drink responsibly.
