have already said this, I think the key to this year's playoffs is getting either the 3rd or 6th seed, and matching up with the Spurs in the 2nd round.

Let's go for the 3rd, please. Let SAS take on OKC, the Warriors take on Denver, and the Clippers take on the Rockets. All of those are tough matchups for each respective team. I'm fine with Jazz vs Grizz.

It's way too early to worry about the second round. Maybe a full year and 3 months early.

That Wizards game is going to be tough - they're a top 5 team in the league right now. And a Sunday afternoon game on the road.

Washington is rumored to be looking to make some moves at the trade deadline - maybe we'll get lucky and catch the team in flux.

Hoping for a favorable playoff seeding outcome is fine, but you're never going to be a legitimate contender until you aren't worried about ANY of your potential opponents. I like you Dal and your take on a lot of things. . . but this kind of thinking is how you tank expectations - not rise to them.

Jazz have great length and elite defensive potential. The offense is VASTLY improved and Snyder gets better each year as guys buy into his system. The Warriors were a middling playoff team for two years (6th in the West) until Steve Kerr got there and the Death Lineup was unleashed. No matter how many games are won, playoff success (or failure) will always determine how good a team is. The Jazz focus should be on making the playoffs first, and then figuring how to match up with any opponent and advancing.

hate to say it...but dutch is right.
I despise these types of threads with predictions of long winning streaks, going undefeated, etc. It NEVER ever pans out.
I'd rather see someone predict us losing 4 of our next 5 and falling to the sixth seed. I'm down for that!

You silly superstitious fool. This thread has no weight on the outcome. It is simply super happy scenario from a fan.

Wanna bet?

IIRC the Rockets haven't lost more than two in a row all season. The Jazz haven't won 9 on a row in years.

Down the stretch teams with a poor record should drop off while playoff teams should start playing playoff basketball.

The Jazz have three tough but winnable games the others are mostly a matter of just taking care of business.

The Rockets being a regular-season juggernaut but a postseason meh face a real challenge with those four games against playoff teams fighting for their seed.

I can see it happening but it's still a bold prediction.

Wanna bet? Really? Wanna bet that I had any effect on the outcome? What?

They have lost two in a row twice just in the last month.
