Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Watching a bit of Gonzaga. Neither Tillie nor Hachimura look like top 20 picks at the moment. Pretty average athleticism for both at their positions by NBA standards. They could be late first, or more likely 2nd-round picks. They have a freshman named Zach Norvell who looks a bit interesting.

The more (highlights) I watch of him the more intrigued I get. He does what the modern NBA values so much - he can shoot it and shoot it in variety of situations and most importantly - he shoots it off-the-dribble and can create his shot off the dribble. The problem is I haven't seen full game of him, just highlights, but if he is in full-game setting what I imagine him to be, he might be a true sleeper in this draft. I want to watch a game of his, but don't know where. Any help anybody?

I could see us swinging for the fences on a guy with more unknowns. We need another DM-like home run.

I think getting HS kids back in the draft (if it happens in future years) will help some serious talent slide down the draft boards again.

I say we just let DM decide... if he likes him we take him.

I continued to search for videos of him and I'm getting hyped a bit... We are very likely going to draft past the top 6-7 so if we miss on the premier prospects who are in college right now, he will have to be on the short list of possible draft targets. I love what I'm seeing... the kid has skill and has great shooting touch and form. Here's what a RealGM poster said about him:

Watched 3 games live.

- Picture perfect form, off the dribble or catch, and is an elite shooter
- Creative handle that lets him get to his pull up
- Good athlete in space
- 6'3 or so with a solid build and long arms

- Didn't flash any vision in the half court and looked exclusively to score
- Turned it over quite a bit in traffic and tight spaces
- Wasn't a willing penetrator and hunted pull ups around the perimeter

Right now I'm seeing a Lou Will, Eric Gordon, etc type of player than a dynamic PnR guard who has the feel and footwork of a Fultz.

Hopefully he develops his feel and passing a bit more, but he's still hella intriguing to me. All that with the disclaimer that I'm talking based on highlights videos, but I don't see anyone past the top 7-8 of this draft I would take rather than the upside of what this kid could be.

The really good thing about having DM is that he is a two way guy and also can move across both guard spots... allows us to go a lot of ways and make things fit on the wing.

I like what the Celtics have done and have a bunch of guys 6'6" to 6'9" that are interchangeable. They can guard any position and switch at random. That is the direction that the NBA is going and why I am so excited about players like that. Length kills and that is also important as DM is not tall but lengthy.

I would so take Clarkson and Deng from Lakers if they would throw in Ingram just because of the above statement.

He would be an amazing building piece with Gobert, Hood, DM and Exum. One of the things i like a lot about Exum is that fact that he is 6'6" and should be able to guard multiple positions and he can play with DM well.

Jazz need to prepare for position-less basketball.

UT Arlington vs Alabama tomorrow night is a game I'm excited to watch.

Will see Sexton and will get to see if Kevin Hervey actually looks like a NBA player against a good team.

I have to say, I think Kostas Antetokuombo should be on our radar. He'll be a decent defender and should be able to slash a bit. In other words, there's upside without a ton of downside.

This is Knox missing some shots, though he had an okay game.

This is Chemezie Metu looking out of sorts, though he had an okay game too.

Uhh, every pick has downside. If he didnt share a last name with Giannis, no one would care about him. He is a red-shirt Freshman on a bad Dayton team who is struggling to get minutes.

He seems to be some where between Giannis and Thannis is talent

Ehh, he is way closer to the latter. He doesnt have anywhere close to Giannis talent (ball-handling, being able to play point, playmaking). He just has better size than Thanasis.

The Jazz should take a solid look at Miles Bridges. I've never quite gotten on that bandwagon. Anyone else?

He's a very good athlete who can do a bit of everything, but doesn't seem elite at anything yet. He seems to settle for jumpers a bit too much.

Michael Porter is out for the season and will undergo a surgery. This gives us hope that he might fall to us even if we pick out of the top 3...

Statement from #Mizzou: Michael Porter, Jr. will undergo surgery on Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Dallas, Texas. The procedure, a microdiscectomy of the L3-L4 spinal discs, has a projected recovery time of three-four months and will likely cause him to miss the remainder of the season.

So Michael Porter is now out for the year... does he slide? I think he may be there at 5-6.

Some back surgery, which would scare teams off...
