Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Gobert had 23 and 14 in his first game back. I'm not counting on it.
But we still lost...at home.
Now imagine DL trading away at least Favors and Hood and maybe JJ for prospects or picks...or expiring vets who are just waived. Jazz can get to 7 or 8. But there are always draft surprises. Even at #10, a good player will be on the board.

They just won at home against a playoff team.

Utah is one of the worst road teams in the league and have sketchy chemistry due to ill-fitting pieces. Sure, they look great when their 3s are falling, but they look like trash when they aren't. Hopefully DL makes a move in the right direction with Favors/Hood.

Wait, are you telling me in the modern NBA where teams shoot a higher % of their total FGA as three pointers that if you arent hitting the 3pt shot your offense struggles?

no way. He is the modern center in the NBA

Not at 207 lbs he's not. He needs to add some strength and weight. Wait til he works out against Wendell Carter.

Edit: Well, it looks like he's closer to 215 or 220 lbs now, so he's heading in the right direction.

IFFY ON MO BAMBA?! R U SERIOUS?

If we could give rudy a shot of sodium thiopental and force him to watch an hour of Mo's tape, he'd declare him the best prospect in the field.

Robert Williams dropping out of Lottery is absurd... His catching and finishing ability is better than Capela right now...

He weighs more than 207...

He is closer to 230. He is much bigger muscle wise than Gobert was at the same age.

I dont consider guys like Gobert and Bamba as "modern". To me they are throwback defensive centers. Just the natural physical evolution of guys like Mutumbo. In 30 years we will probably have a dude w/ an 8' wingspan.

nbadraft.net has us taking this guy late in the second round, crock dante has mentioned him alot:

And Ham Diallo at the #18 overall pick, who thusfar has underwhelmed at Kentucky. He's FT % is 61%, .348 % 3pts

Kulboka is PG_AB approved. The thing he does very well, better than most lets say 4-star SF's in American HS's is shoot off the dribble.

If u have a child who's trying to get better at basketball, having them focus /do drills practicing shooting after 1 dribble is one of the best directions u can point them in. There's a clip of James Harden and Eric Gordon swishing like 30 shots in a row pregame from like a week ago that demonstrates the basic > intermediate > expert > pro progression of how to practice.. Then u teach em the effectiveness of the larry bird head fake.. Especially girls if u can teach em this stuff early they'll be good enough to land a scholarship ez.

34.8% from 3 is several points above my expectations from Hamidou Diallo from 3 btw.

I really think people have gotten so greedy with these 3pt %'s they forget that 2/6 from 3 is just as good as 3/6 from 2...

Who knows tho a few good or bad games and that % will look a whole lot different. I like the confidence he's taking em with tho and his selection has been a bit better than I expected.

As long as he's over 33% it's proficient and a great sign of progress..

The ft% is not as promising..

Diallo is out of this world athletic tho, for sure, in that spot it's a good gamble..

Exum - Mitchell - Diallo is viable in my book...

BTW there's a Canadian kid who I hyped several times here over the years thats out-performing his 4-star rating bigtime.

O'Shea Brissett 6'9" F at Syracuse. He's a possible 1-and-done. He'd be a very nice fit in Utah IMO. I've followed him since he was shorter, he seems to be progressing towards a JaMychal Green style hyper-athletic 4-man. He passes the eye test with ease. Check this out.

He's playing 38 minutes a game as a freshman!!!

31% from 3 but he's taking 4 a game.. 10 rebounds per, 15ppg.. atrocious FG% but draws tons of fouls, gets tons of o-boards, super quick second jump.. long arms... you get the picture?????? he could work in Utah.. Immensly better prospect than Bolomboy

****He's an old freshman tho... will turn 20 the month before the draft..
