Hate the celebrity judging. Give us people who actually know how hard these dunks are, and who know the history of the contest.
Problem with the dunk contest as seen in Lavine vs. Gordon is that unless the player misses, the score is always between a 45 and a 50. No room for truly great dunks.

Both of Mitchell’s dunks were overrated- the first one definitely shouldn’t have been a fifty and that last one was only as good as Nance’s first which was a 46.

So, one half Kevin Hart (64 inches) would be 32”, Mitchell’s vertical is 40.5”. Therefore with those numbers he had 8.5” left over. He only gave up 79% and robbed us fans of 21% of what we deserved. Hmph, severely upset over this.

While Victor Oladipo wasn’t able to put up enough points to advance to the second round of the 2018 NBA Dunk Contest, he did put up a slam that is sure to please fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Donovan Mitchell was the official winner of the evening’s contest, but Pacer fans should still be proud of their star.
This should be interesting with Victor competing but I think Mitchell will win. I would like to have seen Bogie in the three point contest.

This is the NBA Dunk Contest, not America’s Got Talent with props. Can we get some real NBA Dunk Contest champions to judge this instead of DJ Khaled, Mark Whalberg, and Chris Rock? Everyone here knows Dennis got finessed when he only got a 39 on his first dunk, should’ve at least been a 43. If this is the NBA Dunk Contest, let’s treat it that way, and not be disillusioned with props and showmanship. Score the dunking, not the accessories!
His first dunk was probably a little too conservative. But those judges are just ridiculous.

So Dennis Smith Jr. throws down a reverse 360 between the legs dunk and Mitchell is awarded the higher score because he dunked over two and a half feet of Hart Family? DSJ got screwed.
DSJ had the best overall dunk but Mitchell was the most consistent (with Nance). He deserved it imo. I think he could have cleared Kevin and the kids but didn't want to risk it because it's Kevin Hart and his own sis.
