moderation
Catracho is working hard for my vote in that stupid poll about recalling moderators. I'm just glad there's several folks willing to do that unpaid job, as otherwise the proprietors of this forum would be faced with a totally thankless mob for the privileges they offer us.
Nobody can be all things to all people, if you try all people will just hate you. I don't care what political opinions or sports opinions anyone has in here, you can all be my friends. I just hope you can offer some interesting points of view worth thinking about. That's all I come here for.
I didn't vote for anyone to be "recalled" and won't. I suppose it might be a useless as well as thankless task trying to get some moderators to take the rules they are supposed to be using to "moderate" this forum with, but I recognize that it's their party and I'm just a guest.
But I tried once again to reply temperately to Catracho's post in the "Recall" thread about how some posters, including me, should be "recalled". I even reported that post as the personal attack it was, with a lame comment that I doubted three of the moderators would see my point, but that I expected six at least to find the issue humorous.
Well, Catracho wasn't one of the ones who thought it humorous, so apparently he genuinely believes his statement about me.
So it's okay if posters want to recall mods, but not for mods to want to recall posters? Got it. Hypocrite.
Catracho, the whole potency of the mod position, payless and thankless as it is, is that you do get to ban posters if enough of you just want to. For whatever reason, or for no reason at all in some forums.
I'm too busy to be a moderator, and as long as that's true, all I ask for is the privilege to respond to personal attacks from moderators. And maybe just laugh.
I can't speak for anyone esle, but the rumor about my alleged past in the form or previously banned posters just isn't true.
I got banned from Tribtalk and the mod force there reinstated me once because of others who spoke up on my behalf, but they really do have a thing over there about their hope to beome the authoritative source for certain views on Utah, politics and local religion. They banned me again. I never protested their decision.
I've been around long enough in other forums it wouldn't surprize me too much if some folks have borrowed some of my material and run it out under other names, but I sincerely believe Hopper was his own person and came to it on his own study and thinking.
I'm sorry folks, but I just really have better things to do than worry about "moderators" or anyone else very much.
Ya'll just go have yourselves a good life now, bye.
I might check in again later if I get a few spare moments. . . . so Trout will just have to stick around to make sure I'm noticed.
