NBA SUMMER LEAGUE 2018

Interesting... Niang doesn't quite have the physique of the typical NBA player but he is skilled and smart.

He reminds me of that guy that lives on the pick up court. He's sorta big and out of shape but he's savvy and knows how to play & score.

If you like Joe Ingles, you should probably like Niang too. Niang has the shooting and passing. He also runs the floor well and has some mid-range and floaters. It's also encouraging that he rebounds.

Niang looks pretty in shape. He doesnt jump high or anything, but the dude is very fluid. He has surprised me athletically these two games. Looks like he can play the 3.

He also shot 41% and 39% in his last 2 seasons with Duke. I doubt he becomes a more reliable shooter and finisher at the next level. If DL wants a more decent shooter, he should simply bring back Hood or sign Belinelli. At least those two have the length to shoot over NBA defenders
Hood was never close to decent, he would get outplayed and wouldn't be tough enough for the wnba

Nice comeback. Niang is impressive and has improved his game. I don't know if the Jazz have a slot for him but I hope they keep him to continue to develop him. I could see if being a stretch four that we are looking for.

Bradley bashers need to cut the kid some slack. It is obvious he has worked his butt off to improve. He is miles ahead from last year and I believe he could get some back up minutes this year. People need to remember his age and the fact he was the 28th pick. He was selected as a developmental project. He is developing quite nicely.

I like Ray, Long or Martin as Stars roster guys.

nope i have not seen any Tony Bradley talent. Looks like he wont be DFave upgrade. Like his attitude and work he put in but he is nothing special after whole year in NBA. I understand it's only one game so i'll be watching him in this summer league but so far it's not so great.

Why would you expect him to be a Favors upgrade?

From the time he was drafted until now, it’s been pretty obvious he’s a 5 only with some mobility liabilities. He still has strengths, and should eventually be a good backup 5/spot starter.

Manage your expectations, otherwise everybody is a bad pick. Just like another poster, @ONE LOVE said they’d be content with the 21 pick if Grayson Allen shot like JJ Redick and Jeff Hornacek. Those are ridiculous expectations that make failure the only option. Not everybody drafted is going to be a Mitchell. Not everybody drafted is going to show out in year one or two. Everybody develops differently.

my Thought so far on the summer league

Bradley looks a lot better then he did at this point last year. He turned 20 this year so he is still very young and bigs are notorious as late bloomers. He still needs to spend a lot of time at P3 but I like the improvement and the direction he is going and wow is that guy long.

Grayson Allen has been about what I expected. He was very nervous in that first game and you could tell but he settled down in the second half and was much better. I like that he seems to be able to realize that his shots aren't falling and then looking for other ways to impact the game. That is very mature for a lot of players. He is still thinking the game and that will come with more experience in the Jazz system.

Niang should replace Jerebko on the roster it would save the Jazz 3 million to do it. He is leaps and bounds better than most of the other players on the court.

Kelan Martin should at least get a 2 way. I like the way he scores. He is very smooth and seems to play humbly. His defense is not awful and he looks like he could improve. I think he has a chance to make the NBA.

Kendrick Ray has been fun to watch. Regretfully there is not a place on the Jazz roster for him but he will get a contract in Europe for sure.

Stanton Kidd should be a training camp invite too. I think we have barely seen what he can do.

NML has some potential but the jazz are to deep at the positions he plays. SG/PG.

Kelan Martin's defense has been stellar.

I could see Niang get a roster spot. Jazz love him, he's been a company man since he was signed. If Utah only offers him a 2-way, I think another team signs him to an NBA contract.

Martin and Mitrou-Long get offered the 2-way contracts.

Kidd and Ray get camp invites.

We continue to stash Tomic and NWG in Europe.
