Grayson Allen predictions

It looks like Grayson may be ready to step in a take over the back-up 2 role that Rodney Hood had last season. A guy who can come in with the second unit and take shots, including the above-the-break 3.

By the end of the year he'll be getting more minutes than Exum.

Wow!! Let’s lower our expectations just a bit. Last years Duke team probably beats that team the jazz played.

I think there are too many guys at the 1, 2 and 3 positions and not that many minutes to go around. It will not be possible for Exum, Burks and Allen to play around 20-25 minutes per night each while Mitchell plays 35 and Rubio around (or just bellow) 30. If those three back-ups are regulars, they'll have to play a lot less. That would mean much lower numbers.

I predict Allen will get comfortable sooner than expected and -- alongside Exum -- allow Snyder to play Rubio around 28 minutes per game. That's the most important thing, IMO, since it will allow Rubio to be fresher around playoff time. Numbers-wise, I don't see Allen contributing much. Perhaps 6 points (on 5 shots) in just bellow 15 minutes. I expect him to shoot around 42% from the field and 37% from 3.

There’s an article about Grayson Allen on the NBA website. The very last paragraph is what caught my attention the most.

The floater that Grayson took last night is something the had worked on that morning. If he can incorporate new skills and fine tuning into his game at an accelerated pace like that...

That’s something Mitchell is able to do.

I hope Grayson can be a spark off the bench, but if he can give us 15solid minutes a night with production i'm happy.

Cobra Kai.

Not to give a hot take, but Allen moved really well, showed quickness and IQ and an ability to make different plays. His ceiling as a player is higher than I thought. His athleticism gives him upside.

Jesus, i dont he even hit rim on any of those threes

That floater was pretty. I'm not sure how he'll do getting it off against NBA defenders. That's always the hard part undersized guys with great shots have when making this transition, and it size turns diamonds into dust. But Grayson can leap and his lane agility is insane (fifth highest ever measured at the combine) so he has a legit shot at adding shots like that that go from easily guarded to unblockable in the difference of a few of inches.

Not undersized. He’s 6-5

Donovan mentioned it in his post game comments. I think Mitchell is pretty high on Allen.
