What's new

I have seen the future...

Mitchell left him in the dust in 3/4 court sprint during combine. And that was before Exum blew his ACL.

Again, combine is occasionally wrong.

And you have proof of that? They use outdated technology to record things? Or they specifically messed up Exum's time to drop his draft value? I am trying to understand what kind of conspiracy theory you are trying to sell here.

Measure no mater how 3.01 vs 3.19 in 23 meter sprint is massive difference. Either Exum's reaction time was very slow and he messed up his start or just maybe he is not that fast...

So I have numbers to back up my claims and yet you can produce just LOLOLOLOL when asked to provide link to those "speed drills" where Exum apparently beats everybody?

Locke interviewed him and they talked about how his speed was back last year sometime and they were directly talking about how he was so much faster than everyone on the team. I’m not interested in looking it up for an internet pissing contest. Locke is often pretty critical of him but talks specifically about his elite speed.

My final point is that rather than argue about whether half the Jazz team is faster and more agile than Exum with someone who clearly likes to be maniacally critical of this guy I’m going to do something more enjoyable like stick a fork in my eye Have a good one dude

I think its pretty widely understood that people have off days and off moments.
I could run one time at the combine and then the next day run a totally different time. Same with vertical, bench press, trivia, or any other type of test or measurement. They all can vary.
Im not just speaking about exum btw, the combine (nfl, or nba or whatever) occasionally shows someone to be so something and then they are actually much defferent than their combine numbers when they get on the field/court.

Some guys are faster in a game than on a track with a stopwatch.

Good example of what i have been saying. He could have had a bad start. Or a slow reaction. Or he ate something that didnt agree with him that day and wasnt feeling 100%. Or he was just a kid and was nervous and worried about how these measurements would affect his draft position. Any number of things could cause a time to be innacurate.

Or, yes its possible that he is faster at 23 years old vs how fast he was at 18 or 19 or whatever he was at the combine.

Could be all kinds of things. What i do know is that i watch him sprint for a loose ball or run on a fast break or blow by a defender on his way to the hoop and he is always faster than everyone else on the court.

Im one of the jazz fans that exum fans probably consider a hater btw. I have been one of the most critical fans of exum that there is. I still dont think his is very good.

Fast as **** though.

Those combine numbers tell you how fast exum was on that particular day in that particular moment in time in that particular situation..

However they dont tell you how fast he is every day at every moment in time in every situation.

U H8R !

I don't think that on the draft combine each player does only one sprint. I believe each player runs multiple times and the result that is made available is their best. Same with jumping, bench press, etc... What happens there is not an sporting competition, but an evaluation of talent, so it is in the best interest of everybody involved to give the young players a real opportunity to show what they can do. That being said, I don't think it makes sense, for instance, disregard a bad draft combine performance by implying that the guy was simply nervous or something like that.

With every game Dante looks more and more like our future starting PG.

Oh boy... I hope that never happens or we are screwed badly. He has not shown anything yet which would give confidence that he can be starting PG in NBA on successful team. Granted he could run Hawks or Cavs tank just fine now.

hey how's the knee ??
8 month after surgery. Doing one legged jumps, squats, running, stair jumping etc. No contact sport yet. Too bad winter is coming , would like to be outside doing some dribbling or shooting drills on the grass.
And to be honest knee feels better than hamstring where they took the graft. Surgeon said it will take 1-1.5 years for hamstring to get back to original strength so I guess that is expected.

not unless rubio keeps up the great work.

What is your point? That Exum got faster after blowing his knee?

Its possible, he was very young, he's added muscle, sprinters don't peak until their mid twenties, i'd go so far as to say he'd be close to having the fastest first couple of steps in the league.
