Point Guards

Patrick Mccaw is available. Why not move Naz up and give him some minutes. Briante Weber of the Skyforce is a solid vet in the GLeague. Got a ring for Golden State. Problem is that if someone is added someone has to be cut.
Because McCaw is trash.

If the Jazz want a guy like Weber they can always cut one of their current two-way guys and sign him to a 2-way.

Jazz arernt going to bring in a guy without much NBA experience to play for them. They'd rather rough it with Neto/Mitchell handling all the PG duties and wait for Exum to return.

Yup this, they'll get to give Royce more minutes by sliding Mitchell over to PG too.

Rubio is going to be out until at least All-Star. You can't rush a hamstring.

Missed 10 days last year... re-injured in the playoffs but I’d think 3-4 weeks unless there was a significant tear. Maybe if they are close enough to the break they just sit him the whole time to be extra cautious.

I also wouldn't be shocked if that "couple of weeks" report about Exum's injury ends up being wrong and Exum makes his return a game or two earlier than expected. A couple of weeks would probably have him missing 7 - 8 games and coming back against the Blazers or Nuggets but I wouldn't be surprised if he came back a game or two earlier against the Cavs or Clippers and he's on a minutes restriction instead.

If we can weather the storm a bit and don’t sustain any more injuries this may not be the worst thing in the world... get to see DM at the pg... Neto has been good when healthy... if he continues to play well he may have some value in a trade. May also see that we can rely on him Exum and DM to carry those minutes... may give us some confidence in going a different direction this offseason.

I think they'll start Neto and use DM as his backup, with Royce/Korver/Jingles picking up extra minutes as backfill at SG or SF. Maybe Niang gets minutes too as everyone slides down a position.

Playing DM full-time at PG just adds to his workload and makes him less effective, so I think they'll avoid that.

Could be right. Also may start with Royce and put Joe and Raul on second unit so you have more ball handling and creation there.

This is kind of the wrong time to get the injury bug... hopefully this doesn’t cost us a game or two we should win... but those of us that wonder what life without Ricky would be will get our wish. I also hope Grayson is healthy and ready for some minutes.

Headed to an extremely easy stretch of schedule so that really helps. On the other hand, need to win almost every upcoming game.

I'm pretty bummed about this, if Rubio/Exum are both out for a couple of weeks that'll really cause us trouble, we just don't have the guard depth to weather these injuries.

Ricky will be a month. Dante probably a little over a week from now

DM should play PG. I see no benefit it playing Neto 30mins a night.

DM
Korver
Ingles
Crowder (but we all know Favs)
Rudy

Mitchell just isn't capable of running the point for 30+ minutes a night at this stage, he even recently spoke about how he didn't realise how much work Rubio/Exum have to do while running the point until he was forced into that role during the playoffs last year and that he has a lot of respect for those guys because of that.

Maybe 30 minutes a night is a bit much for Neto but he should absolutely play more minutes at PG than DM and allows DM to focus on the stuff he does best.

I mean, Donovan had 1 assist and 7 turnovers last night.

Except it's critical that the Jazz pile up the wins during this stretch as it's the time the schedule has finally lightened and the Jazz are playing catchup. Not really a time to be experimenting with things and potentially lose some games that they really need to win.

yes, practise make perfect.
Please say this snyder who has given Dante a short leash throughout his 4 years in utah.
So apparently mitchell is allowed to practise his skills while he is playing an actual nba game, but Dante is not allowed to do the same. Double standards at its very best.
