What's new

Start Mitchell at the Point.

I hope that is true. Favors is underrated. He can't shoot the 3, but his mid-range is good, and his passing, defense and inside game are all very good. I hoped when the Jazz traded for him that he would develop even more, and I do think he could have worked harder when he was younger, but it is clear to me that he works very hard now and is a good teammate.
Most underrated player on the team.

Chauncey Billiups tonight commentating the GSW vs Clippers game had this to say about the Jazz:

"The Jazz has been on a tear lately with Donovan Mitchell with the ball in his hands playing the point guard"

Mitchell tonight with 24 points, 4 assists , 2 steals, etc, etc, etc.

Not just one etcetera but three!!!

Sure, but Rubio is still more of a threat than O'Neale. O'Neale can be played into 0 shot attempts fairly easily by good defenses.
Which can better than 1-8 shooting if Oneal is playing great defense and Ingles, DM, gobert, favors, etc are getting good looks.

And Royce makes a lot less and we can use that space to address other needs... and if the teams most important offensive player is producing more in this setup...

I get it... it’s hard to break from things that make us comfortable... I just think Ricky is the odd one out if we want to address the other needs of the roster. The starting lineup hasn’t missed him... the second unit needs help for sure but the starters are good. Once Dante and Neto are back the second unit is likely fine (can definitely be improved but fine). If we could get something okay in return for Ricky I think we should move him.

Don't jump the gun just yet. At least wait till they play blazers and nuggets. Better gauge then

Since the injured players went out. The jazz as a team is worse off statistically offensively. But defense is better. Mitchell stats are alot better but the jazz are worse offensively with Mitchell at point

Your butt buddy Ben hurt the 76ers down the stretch today. His inability to make a shot or even attempt them cause he's a babby hurts them late game every time. Kinda sad. Much like you.

If it's the team stat as a whole I would almost 100% be willing to bet the bench lineups that don't have Mitchell would be the main culprit for the lowered offensive output. The current starting lineup has a better ORTG than our usual starting lineup, but the "real" starting lineup is still better than both ORTG wise.

Where the Jazz are really hurting offensively in the recent stretch is that they're missing the 117.1 ORTG bench unit of Exum/Korver/Ingles/Crowder/Favs. That same lineup with Allen in place of Exum only has a 97.0 ORTG and an awful -18.1 net rating in 29 minutes.

Yeah I'm not quite ready to say Donovan is our PG yet because I'm not convinced that we don't go 6-0 in the same stretch with a healthy Rubio playing big minutes. I'm not necessarily pro Rubio, I think the jazz should look at more consistent options for sure, but I need to see the jazz beat a team without huge flaws sans Ricky. These next two games will be better tests.

I think he had 20 15 9. Enough said
No not enough said. Doesn't matter what his stat line is if he can't help them in clutch time. Enjoy being a fan of a regular season hero bubz.
