What's new

Start Mitchell at the Point.

And Rubio had the best 1st half of the season shooting performance of his career.

If Rubio follows the trend of his career, he is in line for another career year in terms of shooting.

And Rubio's career year still puts him in the bottom half of starting PGs in the league.

I'm not trying to say dump Rubio. I just don't think he needs to play 30 minutes a night. And I don't think he has to start.

He plays 29 mpg.

And he is the best PG on the roster, so he has to start.

Jazz are playing better defense without Rubio?

I mean, that has nothing to do with playing Cleveland/Orlando/Chicago/Lakers/Detroit. Again, logic not your strong suit.
Well ya, they are playing better defense without Rubio. They are also playing worse opponents which certainly helps the defense look better. They are still playing better defense though.

U make some good points. Then some absolutely silly ones. Jazz aren't playing great right. Their schedule has been great!
Jazz are playing great right now. And their schedule has been weak.
Both things are true.

That's kind of BS. The defense had been trending since December, I pointed it out many times to backlash from weirdos like Lopo.

The Jazz held the Blazers to scores in the 90's twice in late December. They held the Warriors to 103 in late December. All with Rubio.

We should get a better sample with this weeks slate of games.

Great almost time to get back to watching Rubio destroy our rythym and take shots the other team desires because they leave him open. I hope they trade his *** for anything. My least favorite player on the team to watch now. Exum is better and I'm not sure that Neto isn't also better.

Agreed 100%.

After an easy stretch of games (solidly won), if Rubio comes back against the Blazers (28-19), Nuggets (31-14), or Wolves (22-24), we better win by 40 playing better than the '82 Lakers, or the comments will be extremely predictable. Popcorn ready.

Now I'm a weirdo? Cy, do you realize I even like some of your posts regardless of You being You? You know why? Because I can be objective. If somebody makes a good point, I like it.

You are right, the defense has trended up since December. It is the main reason we have played better. But isn't it also true that the best defense we have played all year has been while Rubio has been out? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Remember, this isn't personal for me like it seems to be for you. And if you are wrong on this (our D has been even better without Rubio), own it.

It's only one metric but the Jazz' DRTG in December was 100.6 (2nd in the league in December) while so far in January it's been 101.7 (1st in the league in January).

So without Rubio and Exum, we are 1 point worse on D than in December. Good to know. Thanks.

With Mitchell in the starting lineup, arent our defensive numbers substantially better?

And with our blowouts lately, final scores can be misleading. Like against Cleveland when we let them make it look more respectable in the 4th quarter due to Grayson, Cavanaugh, Naz lineups.

Current starting lineup is 88.4 DRTG, lineup with Crowder in for Favs is 79.1 DRTG. Very small sample size and like Cy has mentioned numerous times it's against mostly inferior competition so it's hard to know just how much noise is in those numbers.
