Yeah, the thing is I think you have stupid eyes that are subject to recency and confirmation bias.
Recency bias when we’ve looked our best all year lately and confirmation bias when we just beat the two conference one seeds, Rubio missed one of the games and was a -26 in the other.

I know your stance, but honestly shocked your being so hostile when It’s not an unpopular opinion at all and there is plenty of evidence contrary to your opinion that I’ve never actually seen you argue against. I got it, numbers say one thing, are there simply zero other considerations for you?

I don't disagree with you. I think the whole super star thing is stupid as ****. I'm just saying people use it to refer to what they perceive to be top tier talent.
The funniest was how being a super star basketball player isn't about basketball ability or play level. I find that comment hilarious. As if there are super star in nba players whose basketball ability isn't good.

I don't have an opinion on this. I have actual factual evidence. Evidence that spans the last 1.75 years, not a game you just watched.

You are the person who is using opinion.

Donovan is a star but not a super star. He is barely a star. His shoe hasn't hit shelves yet and he hasn't made the All Star game. He had a career high last night beating the best team in the NBA, and he didn't even make the front page of ESPN. If any of these guys had scored 46 coming back from 17 in the 4th to beat the best NBA team, it would be ESPN front page news:

LeBron
Durant
Curry
Harden
AD
Giannis
Wade
Dirk
Westbrook

Maybe a couple others, but these are true NBA superstars.

Lavar Ball is the biggest NBA super star. He actually had the balls (pun not intended) to release a $500 shoe for his rookie son.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/superstar

a star (as in sports or the movies) who is considered extremely talented, has great public appeal, and can usually command a high salary

Please pay attention to the "has great public appeal" part.
I never said superstars aren't popular or don't have appeal lol. I simply said they are the top handful of players in the league. The elite of the elite. It's possible to not be as popular but be one of the best players in the NBA and be a superstar (see your example of Duncan). It's not possible to be really popular but not a top player and be a superstar. Like lonzo might be really famous and might sell really expensive shoes and stuff. Not a superstar player though

I actually just made this same point and then read your post after. It's quite obvious really. I wasn't surprised that thee didn't get it
Thought cy was smarter though.

Again, that's not the definition.

To be a super star you have to be extremely talented (being a star) and have great public appeal. You have to check both boxes.

Is there any elite offensive player in the NBA who would not meet the marketability criterion?

You are being purposefully ignorant again, no surprise.

I clearly said being a super star that one of the prerequisites was being a star.

You also said basketball ability and level didn't matter lol. Arguing with yourself! Not surprised lol.

If you are a top 5 player in the NBA you are a superstar regardless of marketability or popularity. Thing is if you are top 5 you will be popular. Only really important criteria of being a superstar player is being the elite of the elite.

I would say that Dirk and wade WERE superstars but are not currently.

I love Mitchell. Probably my favorite player of all time. Wouldn't trade him for anyone. But he's currently too inconsistent to be considered even an all-star level player. He's close though.

I think he is all Star level since 2019. But 2018 he was not. For the season as a whole I agree that he is right on the cusp.

Hey I'm a thunder fan, few years back I was here mostly trolling.

Just want to say congrats on the steal of the draft, your team is going to be elite for years to come and tbh the fanbase deserves it.

Good luck the rest of the season!

I have a feeling we end up playing you guys again in the first round.
