What's new

Kristen Kenney

Has she looked slightly different to anybody else the last couple games? Maybe it's just an engagement glow...

I know it's probably highly unlikely, but wouldn't Big Dawg make a great sideline reporter or color commentator? The guy was always a great interview, high energy and funny. I met the guy when I was 20ish in Springville. He was there trying to raise money for a basketball camp for underprivileged youth he was putting on. We talked to the guy for like 30 minutes, him and his family were super nice people. We paid $100 for a signed basketball for his camp. We still have it in out curio at home. Cool dude

This doesn't make sense as a response to what you bolded.

But yes, obviously her looks are what people seem to care about most. Which is just part of the deal, she knew it getting into the business. It's kinda lame, but also just the way these things work.
Sure it does. Is it though?- her looks are the most important thing about her.

Saw him at SLC Walmart a year ago.

we take a bunch of guys who probably played some sport in high school, who talk about girls like objects in the locker room, and then we try to get them to respect 'a girl' as a sideline reporter, and then we judge them for not respecting her. this is a really deep problem with sports in general, and i'm talking about fans and players. can girls not only be athletes but know just as much as guys about athletics? yeah, obviously. will they ever be respected for that knowledge, or will they ever sound to fans like a knowledgeable source for athletics? time will tell.

as for Kristen, i like her personality, her voice is a little scratchy, she seems to know as much if not more than i do, and she is plenty attractive for someone who works a job where it shouldn't matter but does.

(i'm starting to wonder if i'm a buzz kill)

Nope. I'am supplying a grammar nazi with ammos.
I would think "looks" could be either a "they" or an "it" in a conversation. No need to ignore the point of the comment to derail it about a difference between "it" and "they", yet here we are.

"Your looks are the most important thing about you."
"Is it though"

That's not being a grammar nazi, that sentence makes no sense.

They are it, just to clarify.

And yet you knew exactly what he meant.
This was my original response

He's the one who dragged it on longer.

He's the one who dragged it on longer.

It actually makes perfect sense.

He is referencing “the most important thing”. Hence “it”

You are sticking to “her looks”. Which would require the use of “are”.
