Dante Appreciation Thread

This thread isn't about whether the Jazz made a mistake in drafting him. It's about the efforts he has made to overcome his constant injuries. Who knows, maybe he will come back. But if I were the Jazz, I'd let him go so that he could have a fresh start. Maybe he needs to go to overseas and build up his body. He still is only 23. Jingles didn't get into the NBA until he was 27.

He's not going anywhere for a few years. His contract is guaranteed the next two years. Honestly, while a fresh start might be better for him, I don't see him giving up that dough nor do I blame him.

I don't bag on draft picks that bust due to injuries because no one has that foresight to see that happening to a player that was previously healthy prior to be selected. Dante has busted his arse to get back from his injuries and, with as many as he's had, it couldn't have been easy.

But he's still a heartbeat away from being breathed on and missing six weeks. With all the time he misses due to rehab, it's hard to find time to work on your game due to missed practices and such. His contract isn't horrible at all honestly, but it's still a bit of a albatross.

Best wishes, Dante. Hope you heal well and can find a way to play ball again at a proficient level. Everyone here and throughout Jazz fandom would love nothing more than for you to prove the majority wrong about your ability to get healthy, stay healthy and play to a level that helps this team take the next step.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw the report of his injury after the game. Still can’t. While it’s sad for him, as a fan it’s honestly one of the most bizarre, hilarious ***** I’ve ever seen in pro sports.

I have no problem casting the negatives aside based on the tantalizing play I witnessed before he got hurt this January. I hope he gets back to that level and kills it next year.

It is literally the worst luck to have someone that is not injury prone get hurt so much.

I wish I could turn back time and stop you from breaking that mirror, and am waiting patiently for the 7 years to be up.
5 down, 2 to go.

In all seriousness, I do hope Dante would heal quickly and never get injured again. We still have not seen what he could do, or could have done had the injuries not happened.
I'm sure he's super frustrated too.

Mother of God, two highlight reels in 5 years. One is an ok dunk, and another 15 pts. Staggering. Also it's pretty clear in the 15 pt thumbnail Dante is being marionetted by Lindsey and Boler.

When Ryan Clady was the best left tackle in the NFL, he had a similar injury he incurred playing hoops in the off season. I think his was more severe as he had surgery but he returned to all pro status.

That's all we can put on the altar? And the highlight reel I've been jerking to for almost two years is a marionette show? Man, Dante really does suck.
