This doesn't sound too encouraging.
If the solution is to involve royce in the offense more and the screen game specifically then I agree. There is a simple solution we can use there...
Gordon has decent strength and quickness. Also, who on Houston is going to guard DM? Tucker is a good defender but not nearly as good as Ariza laterally... I think he'd foul out...
Gordon? He will get lit up
Harden? I don't see that going well
CP? Let's put more stress on those old hammies
Ariza was a big deal for them last year... I wonder if they bring in Shumpert or Rivers to guard DM
Gordon has decent strength and quickness.
I'm not gonna pretend like I know if he is a good defender or not though.

But that would be uncharted territory for him.

****ing this! Would be a great wrinkle. Go back and watch that Bucks-Rockets video I posted earlier, and think about Favors as the rim protector and Rudy as Giannis, basically covering two zones on the weak-corner while being ready to dash in and be the first helper on the strong-side. Could work really well.Like maybe we put Favs on Capela and help on the PnR... have Rudy guard Tucker, but really play zone... have someone help the helper and make PJ Tucker beat us.

So you’re saying we start Royce and Rubio and bring Mitchell off the bench. What do you think about the rockets sticking harden on Royce on the other end?
Would we be able to take advantage of hardens terrible defense? Royce doesn't set screens or get screens set for him much and I think putting harden in pick n rolls should be a priority.
Would harden not have to work much to guard Royce?
I definitely like the idea of Royce guarding harden but I don't know if I like it at the expense of us losing the opportunity to attack harden when on offense.
I also worry that Royce might foul too much (he is very physical and "handsy" defense) and get harden too the line early and often.
I don't have any better ideas though. I would just hope that the rockets wouldn't be able to stick harden on someone who doesn't initiate offense or get involved much in the screens and picks we set.

Lol.So you’re saying we start Royce and Rubio and bring Mitchell off the bench.
I like it.
Good news is that niang has been playing at his peak for a good stretch now.Royce and Niang are going to have to pick up their 3PA to make up for Korver being out. I don't understand why Royce doesn't get more shot attempts. I know he is primarily focusing on D but we are going to need to get points from someone else to complement Mitchell/Rudy/Ingles/Favors. I don't have much confidence in Jae right now.
