Listening to DJ & PK... (Re: Mitchell/Harden)

Donovan will never be like John or Karl. Don't even put him in the same class as them LOL
It’s far too early to know either way. There are ways he can without a doubt surpass them, not necessarily basketball records wise but he can in some ways.

I think we need a second guard that can score and create
This. The issue we have is Donovan usually plays with 3 out of 4 guys who are not a real threat from 3. If you can get him a a PG, or move Donovan to PG and get him another guy on the floor that can actually shoot decently and handle the ball just some possessions it would change things entirely. It would not allow teams to collapse and congest the lane like they do. One decent guy who can shoot and handle the ball will make a huge difference. They don’t even have to be a star or top tier guy, just someone that actually has to be guarded on the 3 point line. Currently they get to ignore everyone except Joe and Donovan from 3 in the starting lineup.

Honestly if you want my opinion on this series Quin just needs to make a difficult decision and some guys are just gonna have to swallow some pride if they want this to be competitive. Favs needs to come off the bench with Crowder starting, and I think you need to move Rubio to the bench, slide Donovan to PG and put Korver into the starting lineup if he’s healthy enough. The offense was as much if not more of a problem than defense. If Donovan is on the floor with Korver and Jae he will have more room to work. Either way you gotta bring at least Rubio or Favs off the bench in this series, Donovan has no room to work if Ricky or Favs can’t hit a 3.

I honestly think you’re overvaluing Houston’s roster a touch. Houston is good because Harden is playing like an MVP. The roster is fine, but it’s not oozing with stars or huge talent. CP3 was just okay in game 1. There was one player dominating on the floor in game 1 and it’s was pretty obvious who.
The roster works together. They feed off each other and compliment each other. Maybe those role players are like Bryon Russell or Howard Eisley who were better with us than they would be anywhere else.

Regardless, Morey has done a very good job pairing Harden and Paul with their coach then supported them with very well placed role players and starters. They are always aggressive and don't settle. They are a Chris Paul healthy leg away from maybe going for 2 straight.

Wierd thing to say. You should compare john and Karls stats in the nba at 22 years old to Donovans. I bet Donovans are better. Especially since those two might have still been in college lol

Stock was a rook at 22 years old, and averaged 5.5/5/1

Malone was also a rook at 22 and averaged 15/9/3

Donovan averaged 24/4/4 at 22 years old

———— Other HOFers at 22 ————

Kobe averaged 28.5/6/5 at 22

DWade averaged 16/4/4 at 22

Allen Iverson averaged 22/4/6 at 22

Michael Jordan averaged 23/4/3 at 22 (Edit: Just noticed was injured)

If Mitchell chooses to stay he will be bigger than John and Karl.

To some he already is.

Not to anyone over the age of 30. He'd have to win a championship, play for ten years, get a few gold medals, set a few records... and even then. I'm not sure he could do it.

I'm over 30 and I disagree. He doesn't have to do all of that. Just play his career with the Jazz.

It's more than just accomplishments. It's about them putting Utah Jazz on the map. They made us who we are today. They are the foundation to this amazing team we are fans of. IMHO, I would never put another player over them two in any sense for who they were to this franchise. We might not have a team if they didn't change the course of history by making the Utah Jazz a legitimate contender.

I think you're wrong. Sure, there's a few out there that think like you do. But I would guess the vast majority of fans, especially the younger ones, will love DM more than John and Karl. IF, IF, he stays.

If he leaves, well we all know what will happen then.
