What's new

2nd Jazz win! - Jazz at Rockets: 6pm MT

Here's some keys for the game:

Why didn't Favors play at the end instead of Gobert? Gobert was honestly pretty terrible this series like last year.

Donovan was garbage. I'm not sure why royce or even jae didn't get any looks at the last 3 minutes of the game.

Favors is great against the rockets.

Rubio played really well but i need Kemba or jrue.

At least the game was entertaining. Donovan REALLY needs to work on his driving skills. I cant stand when he drives into 3 defenders to get stripped, lose the ball, or throws up a horse shot instead of kicking it out. He does it at least twice every single game

My grandma died of lupus. For real.

That's sad.

To change tack for a bit we had an old fella at work last night with a wife who must have been 30+ years younger than him. The dude was definitely on the way out, we assumed the wife was the daughter when we found out she was the wife one of the boys asked if all his food tasted of almonds...

Watching the post game presser, DM is a great kid

Feel awful for him... rough night that really got away from him.

Great game from the guys... I legit think if we dug that game out we had the series... hardens *** looked worn.

We need shooting in the worst way... Kyle is great and I still like the trade but in most playoff series he may not be playable. Couple lights out shooters and everything would open up.

and right on cue...

I was right about **** all season. I said we were not as good of a team as we were last year. I didn't say it from a place of negativity, I said it from a place of realism. People here jumped down my throat for "being negative". Well how did it turn out? I was clearly right. We WERE better last year. FACT. I said the Rockets would beat the Jazz in 5, maaaayyybbbbe 6. People responded with the whole stop being negative schtick. When again, I was just being real about the situation. How did it turn out? I was right... again.

And now I'm still just being real about what I think will happen again and... "right on cue"

This board sometimes smh

The Positives:

* Our effort was fantastic. The team showed great character.

* Our defense was locked in. Very impressive.

The negatives:

* Our roster is just filled with way too many zeroes. You can’t win with 2/3rds of your roster producing nothing. All of our PGs need to be gone next year, Thabo needs to go, Udoh and Bradley are redundant, and if Korver is out of gas then he needs to go too.

* Rudy was awful. One could argue that playing Favors more in this series would’ve given us a better chance to win. Especially at the end of this game. Needs to get physically stronger and needs to continue to develop offensively.

* As much grief as Malone received for his clunkers, this Mitchell performance tonight was an all-time gag fest. Far worst than what I remember from Malone against Seattle or Chicago. I don’t know if the pressure or fatigue got to him. But he needs to work on his shooting and Dennis needs to get him some GD support so we’re not so reliant on Mitchell to do everything.

Frustrating note:

* Exum and his awful contract. It feels like Exum’s failure to provide Mitchell with just a sidekick role might hinder the Gobert-Mitchell era much like AK47’s contract limited our success during the Deron Williams era. I hope I’m wrong and that we can get out of this bad deal. But we desperately need another guard or two with loads of potential. Someone through the draft or through free agency. Someone who can take over games offensively when Mitchell is off. Even Dlil needs CJ McCollum. Even Steph needs Klay.

I said that when we picked him up, he couldn't get on court for the cavs last season in the finals. He made a solid contribution through the regular season tho. I think thabo and Kyle are gone, Udoh too I reckon. No idea what we are going to do with Ricky. I'd like to see us bring in another shooter either move Donovan to the 1 and find a decent 2. Anyway that's all for the off season. We can wait for White Chocolate to return before we start thinking about this.

Korver is due $7 with nonguaranteed $3.5. I just don't see us paying $3.5 to Kyle so he just goes away.

I could see us trading him though.

I actually love the idea of McCollum I just don't see Portland letting him go after these playoffs.

edit: also the Jazz wouldn't pay a sidekick to Mitchell $11 mil a year max if they truly wanted him to be a side kick. Exum could be a fantastic 3rd guard but his health as always is the main issue.
