I think we don’t have a luxury of choosing a high level player like butler. If we have a chance, we have to sign him no matter what. It will be between staying put and lose again vs gamble and try to win. We just need to go for it

Exum I think benefits the Jazz more in a perfect world because his ability to get to the rim in 1 dribble anytime he wants without being a reliable outside threat just opens up so many things for the Jazz, but Rubio is definitely the steadier presence in reality.

I can agree with that. My issues are: Dante can't stay healthy. And Ricky has a slightly better 3%. That, and with each injury, Dante's athleticism is going to slip quicker. Ricky relies on other things.

He's a diva and a bit of a problem in the locker room. I don't think Philly really wants to max him. If we could stand him, he'd be the right fit--a 20-pt scorer (who can go for 35) and an intense defender. In other words, he's a clear upgrade from Jae Crowder.
 
can we renounce derrick and offer him less money and re-sign lol

Honestly I am very scared about the Gobert next contract, I don’t want to pay 40 million for a very limited offensive C...
unfortunately to improve we will have to cut or trade Favors, which in the series was very positive for us .. enough Rubio, we have to improve in the position of PG, otherwise next year we predict 4-2 again with the contenders ..
 
If we want to add a significant player in free agency, we gotta dump Favors and Rubio. That's harsh. If we want to add a significant player via trade, it's possible we keep Rubio since we have his rights.

If Memphis ends up out of the top 8, their pick goes to Boston. At that point, they start their tank job because their roster sucks and they are still paying Parsons.

We keep Rubio, let Neto go, and use the full MLE on somebody for PF.

I’m totally on board with trading our draft this year. This is the worst class on paper I’ve seen in many years.

I doubt we get a max player. I’m also not relying on Dante any longer from this point; any contribution from him is just gravy.

What is going on?? Even the notion of the thought of trading Gobert is ridiculous!! Wasn’t he second in win shares? Teams never get even value when trading stars. Trading Gobert means we get worse, not better. It would be much easier to keep Gobert and add shooters than trading Gobert for a scorer than having to find another star player. Gobert ain’t going anywhere. I’m not even sure we are a playoff team without Gobert.
 
What a mistake Exum's contract. 10 millions/year only for 2017-2018 14 good games.
I try to trade him, resign Ricky (MLE) and try realistic objetives in FA: Dedmon, Beverley...
