Jazz Exit Interviews

So every is down on Lindsey? When I've posted negative things about him failing as a GM, I've been hammered.

Too lazy to bump all my posts, but I told you so!

Or do we still give him a pass, because he got Donovan and took the advice of the int'l scout and Sloan and drafted Gobert.

Lmfao, I always enjoy when people try to puff their chest on a message board.

Just because something is true now doesn’t mean it was true 2 years ago lol

But “I told y’all!” Lmfao.

Lol, DL isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, whether we like his mgmt or not, that’s the bottomline.

I agree. Even if he fails to land 1-2 needed additions he won’t be going anywhere. Even though he should imo. He’s been amazing getting us to here. But if he can’t get the Jazz over this hump and into “legit contender” then the Jazz need to find someone who can.

Due to the Houston whooping it's apparent our current roster isn't going to contend without upgrades. If we realize this then so does DL - there will be changes.

Or when people get upset and take anything someone says negative about the Jazz or the Jazz front office personal.

That has been my position... you say "I don't think we should draft a center when there are good wing/guard prospects on the board" or "hey maybe we shouldn't sell all these second round picks" or "maybe we should utilize some of our cap space instead of maintaining flexiblity" and Jazzfanz be like "oh youuuuu know so much better than DL huh? you so dumb.. he darfted the effs out of DM and Rudy".

He's done some good and bad and is not above criticism. He's a good leader and well-spoken. Will never embarrass us and has really helped set the culture. He's been a little too conservative and he's passed up some opportunities imo. I don't think he sucks, but these mistakes may keep us as a second round type playoff team unless he hits a home run or two in the next couple years.

Because if the Jazz make it to the second round again, or maybe even mount a competitive first round, the outcome of the season is actually pretty different believe it or not.

But that's not what happened. The Jazz got virtually swept (cuz when you go down 3-0, you're done).

There is a place for consistency and patience... there is also a place for thin slicing and being really nimble. I think DL is on the patience side and I very much prefer being nimble... its why I couldn't stand working for big companies. DL needs to be a bit more nimble and quick minded imo. Dante is one of the best examples of that.. we should have moved on or forced him into a more team friendly deal if we were going to retain him, but DL is still convinced he's special or something... now we have his ded *** for another two years. There is such a huge value in failing fast and moving on.. with shorter contracts and more player movement it is even more imperative that teams shift quickly.

The DL hate is shockingly irrational. The Jazz are one of the most disadvantaged franchises in the league due to location (small market, weather, geographically isolated, & perceptions about Utah) and financial resources (relatively poor owner, regional tv revenue). Despite this, DL has steered the team to be in a better position than most of the league. Seriously, which teams (players and coaches) would you want to switch with right now? For me it would be: Warriors, Rockets, Celtics, Bucks, 76ers. The only other teams that I had to think about for more than 3 seconds before deciding I would pass on them are: Lakers, Nuggets, Mavericks.

Who do you think DL would be replaced by, and why/how are they going to be better? Even if there was someone who is obviously better than DL, why do you think they would come to Utah?

Again, complaining because DL hasn't constructed a team that can beat the Warriors and Rockets is so irrational.

Based off an interview to DL yesterday on the zone it sounded like changes are coming. I’d be surprised if Rubio came back. I don’t think the Jazz stand pat, and there are some good names out there in FA it sounds like.
