What's new

Endgame (spoilers)

I think the one thing the movie was lacking though was Mitri the Dwarf kicking *** in the final battle scene.

It’s 5 years later and he clearly hasn’t taken care of himself. He’s way past his prime in this movie. I explained it to my wife like this, he’s still shaq. But he’s the El Heat version, not Lakers version. Did you notice Thanos’ smile as he nearly jams Stormbreaker into his chest just like Thor did to him at the end of Infinity (despite not having memories of this)? Pretty awesome. Capt America, unlike Thor, was early 2000s Malone and Stockton. Took care of themselves and despite not being in their primes, still were incredibly effective.

Anyone else think Thanos was far scarier in this movie than in Infinity? Seemed much darker and evil. Implanting 2014 Nebula into the fold was just so evil.

I just checked, Guardians 3 is set for 2022. That’s a long way out. What are they going to do with a Gamora that has no memories of vol 1-2? And with post prime Thor hitchhiking with them?

Seems like a perfect time to introduce Nova to the marvel movie verse.

Also I really want to see venom and carnage tied into Spider-Man.

The next Iron Man was set up, Harley(?)

Loki is missing

New Captain America

Next Hawkeye (his daughter)

Mutants

They tied this story off nicely but left so many new doors open.

Hope they bring in the InHumans as well.

Make a Avengers v X-Men v InHumans the tie off point for the next 15 movies.

I personally thought Capt Marvel would be seen more. Her role was surprising to me. Although, I’m not sure how they would’ve worked it in since the 2nd act primarily focuses on a few of the original avengers and their emotional baggage. Things that took movies and movies to develop.

I hope they expound on the heroine only moment. Give us a movie with a half dozen female heroes. Marvel, Scarlet, Valkyrie, Shuri, Wasp...

I agree.

I think they already have one for Black Widow in the works. That’s been long overdue. I don’t know about any of the others although I’m sure a Marvel sequel is going to happen.

I think they even threw in Pepper Potts. It was a 'girl power' moment.

Also, I guess Captain Marvel survived the power stone body blow from Thanos. That should have crushed her.

Really glad I'm finally able to open this thread.

I'm impressed with what marvel accomplished here. They threaded all those movies together and tied up loose ends in a way that was as satisfying as could be hoped for. Hard to imagine something like that being pulled off again.

She was there as was Okoye, Nebula and Mantis.

My 6 year old daughter loves super heroes. Scarlet Witch and Wonder Woman specifically. She’ll come apart at that scene.

I want to take her to an all female super hero movie.

I’m glad homeboy decided to retire as captain America.

Both he and Robert Downey jr had run the course. Even though I love Downey. Just give me scenes of him being his normal d bag hilarious self and that’s a fine movie by itself.

The one I’m disappointed in is Thor. It finally felt like they got the formula right in Ragnorak. Wish they could ride that series another movie or two more. It felt like Thor had finally gained some momentum. I loved all the colors and fantasy space land in Ragnorak. Almost Guardians like. And they finally stopped taking Thor so seriously. Ragnorak along with guardians 1 and Winter Soldier are my favorites.

Most of the good Marvel heroines are X-Men. Disney needs to take that IP from Fox and do it correctly.

They did. X-men are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now. Same with the fantastic 4. The only outlier in the entire Marvel universe is Spider-Man and his supporting cast and villains.

Apparently some people are really upset at fat Thor. They didn’t like that part of the movie. Hmmm

It wasn't my favorite shirtless Thor moment. But I thought his whole storyline in this movie was entertaining and ultimately thought-provoking and touching.

That moment in the movie was one of the all time bests for me. My heart about stopped. I felt this sense of pride that I certainly hadn't expected. It felt like a step forward. Crazy thing to say about a movie moment, perhaps, but it felt real.

Make the new Avengers headlined by Scaret, Marvel and Shuri. How cool would that be?

Scarlet definitely, Shuri seems anchored to Wikanda, Marvel annoys me the same way Superman annoys me. Wasp would be good. We need Spider Woman. Squirrel Girls seems inevitable.

Some really good female villians would be nice.
