What to do in SLC—Article from our here in NJ

Wow, you can tell I'm not much of a drinker as I haven't heard of most of the bars and breweries and such. The rest of the suggestions are solid. I love that Salt Lake Library is a destination (as it should be).

That is actually a pretty good breakdown of some great stuff to do in SLC. There are a few places on that list that not many people who are local even know about. Meandering through Gilgal Sculpture Garden while a little inebriated is pretty entertaining. Its a very weird place to go. I've been everywhere on this list except Café D’Bolla. That place looks pretty good. Ive walked by but never stopped. Ill have to try it. The green bikes really suck but other than that it was all good recommendations.

Some of the recommendations are iffy. The Spiral Jetty is cool to look at as you drive past on the way to Wendover but I can't see making a day of it just to see it. If you are going to drive out to see the jetty you may as well go a bit further and see The Tree of Utah.

If you are going to do a day trip I would recommend Cascade Springs up American Fork canyon.

I like the Red Butte Garden rec but would add that it is a spectacular garden display and should be visited during the day as well as catching a concert at night.

You can't see the Spiral Jetty on your way to Wendover. Many years you can't see it at all. For a decade or more Lake will swallow the jetty. Spiral Jetty is on the North side of the lake. It's got a peaceful quiet and haunted kind of old west Sagebrush feel up there. You drive a little further down the old railroad grade Road and there's a rock that looks like an elephant. Drive a little further still you'll come to Kelton, Town who's only remains is the rotting and neglected final resting place of the town's most tired residents.
Go any further and you enter the empty sector. Perhaps one of the most vacant places in the lower 48. That's the thing I love about up there. It's you the wind and Sol, no-one else.
