TJ is taking a lot of Kemba to Utah questions... that is one I just can't see... I think Hornets will pony up megamax which is like $50M more than we could offer. Kemba has made good money but he hasn't made so much that he can walk from that dough imo… unless he makes it up in marketing dollars or elsewhere. His big contract was 4/48M.
Tobias has a better chance of happening because I doubt Philly offers the 5 year max... they also have the Jimmy Butler factor they are weighing. Even that is slim because there will be 2/3 teams willing to go full max to him imo.
This all depends on lifestyle, yes it’s a lot of money, you or I wouldn’t have to work the rest of our lives, but I’ve heard horror stories of players that retired then went broke pretty fast. The question is how badly does Kemba want out of Charlotte? It’s a poorly run org, he doesn’t have a good team around him, and if they sign him to all that money, they ain’t improving that team at all, and they suck at drafting. I’ve also heard that the team may not want to pay him.I mean, give me $2.5M and I’ll live off the interest alone for the rest of my life.
Yep, players are going to give up 50 million to sign with the Jazz. Let’s stay in reality and do trades, not these fantasy free agency ideas were people take less come play here and we are talking 20 million and above players taking the MLE etc. This all depends on lifestyle, yes it’s a lot of money, you or I wouldn’t have to work the rest of our lives, but I’ve heard horror stories of players that retired then went broke pretty fast. Do you think he cares what you say. He got 30mil. He's laughing to the bank.DL give up on Exum the bust. He was such a waste of money and time. Keeping him is making our team worse by the minute.

Jazz’s last stand: that Exum was able to extract a larger contract out of the Jazz that may hurt them.Do you think he cares what you say. He got 30mil. He's laughing to the bank.
Great work Dante. U deserve every pennyJazz’s last stand: that Exum was able to extract a larger contract out of the Jazz that may hurt them.
Things getting desperate these days for these guys.
I’ll admit that I’m kinda lost. Are you trolling yourself right now?Great work Dante. U deserve every penny
Im saying he deserves all his money. With all his god given talents. He still could be great I firmly believe thatI’ll admit that I’m kinda lost. Are you trolling yourself right now?
If Exum was the holdup, I would think about firing Lindsey right ****ing now.
If they can tuck him into any deal that nets a player, they have to.
Well, the only reason we didn’t do it is because Memphis said no. DL was so willing to do it that he let the trade dangle out there in the public sphere for two weeks. And Conley is under contract for two more years. But what’s important is that you read the writing on the wall. We’d all agree that DL has his ear to the ground regarding this free agency much more than any of us or any pundits. And what does it appear DL is doing about his confidence, or lack thereof, regarding this free agency? He’s looking to cash in the possibility of landing someone in exchange for an over 30 Mike Conley. That should say enough.Wasn't Conley expiring? Even if he wasn't, and you took on his contract, then good bye any kind of major FA until he's gone.
Not worth a dude in his 30's and injury prone. We now have options. If we signed Conley it would have ****ed us in the ball sack.

The narrative that the Jazz haven't signed any major free agents (at the time of their signing) is a correct one, being wary of that route - as much as it irks me - is responsible. Furthermore, are you saying the Jazz should let some of it's perfect, precious little angels go? Because that's the only way they're signing a player at a salary figure anywhere close to Conley's number.
At any rate, my comment was more about Exum and Lindsey's possible obsession with him than it was Conley.
The “cap space” you’re working with in that scenario is the mid-level exception. We keep Rudy, Favors, Mitchell, Rubio, Ingles, Korver and Crowder. These guys play very well together as was shown the last 20 games of the season. Rudy, Favors and Mitchell will continue to improve as they are all "coachable" and the other 4 guys are seasoned vets who will sacrifice themselves for the sake of the team. So the question is how much cap space do we have to work with, and what can we get for the rest of the guys on our roster? We need SHOOTERS! Guys that are willing to play some defense and can SHOOT! We don't need wholesale changes to improve this team and move to the next level. So, who's out there that the Jazz can get to fit that bill?
